West Wing, Obama style!

Awesome, y/y? I don't know half these people, but the fact that it's the WEST WING credits makes me shiver and squee. I am so easy. :P

I've got TWW on the brain. I just finished this awesome SGA/WW crossover, The Pacific Rim by Melyanna. Yes, I know it was from three years ago, shhh. It takes me a while to find the awesome, 'k? I just adore the paternal relationship the President has with Elizabeth, and god, but his one-liners crack me up. I think this is a hard show to write fanfic for, and it can easily be crap if you don't have their voices and speech patterns and all down, because it's got such a unique vibe to it. But this fic rocks. *luffs*

A few quotes...or maybe half the fic, because I couldn't bear to leave out half the dialogue. :P )

LOL. :D I'm falling in love all over again.

While on the topic of crossovers, I have such a craving for an SGA/TLW crossover fic. The idea of Sparky + M/R is ever so squeeful. *daydreams* I have visions of Elizabeth and Marguerite being held captive, having to dress up in some ridiculous yet hot outfit, and Marguerite telling her to use her feminine wiles and Elizabeth sighing, ‘Not again’. While both their Johns are angsting away about losing the love of their lives but trying not to be obvious about it, then realizing everyone knows anyway and then teaming up on pseudo-suicide missions to get the ladies back.

Sadly, I’m getting to the end of’s collection of LW fics. I have one more page to go and then that’s it. *woes* The most frustrating thing is that everyone keeps going on about Carolyn’s site and how TLWFIX is the most wonderful site in existence but of course it’s not operational anymore. This is what happens when you’re like, six years late to the fandom. Ugh.

It's settled. I'm going to be a super villain who has the power to steal teen metabolisms and[ profile] spence_reid  is my sidekick. I flirted with the idea of being a hero and a force for good, but this is more true to my character, lol. Just need to think about costumes now! Since we're going to be super fit and have the perfect bodies, my options are endless!

I do like this number by [ profile] cinegirl2000 .

I always saw Emily as more of a Wonder Woman type, since fotobridget2's fic Super Hero Family brainwashed me, but Elektra works too.

Mother and I had another of our now-weekly tennis matches. Til mother goes back to school, anyway. Stupid school. Although, that's kinda like saying 'stupid paycheck', so I shall forgive mother the inconvenience of her working for a living and not being around to entertain me when I wish.

At any rate, I lost again, 6-4. *sighs* There was one crucial shot when we were on 5-4 that could've changed the direction of the game in my favor but I was too tired and a little overconfident and TOTALLY HIT THE NET. Ugh. Why is it in basketball or netball, they're all like, 'Nothing but net, baby' and it's a good thing, but here the net is baaaad. I shall brood over that one shot for the rest of the day now. >:{

But it wasn't all bad news. Even though I lost the match, at least I was engaging in physical exercise and burning calories. Since I can no longer rely on my teen metabolism, that is somewhat important if I don't want to become the human blimp. So it's a win-win situation, really. Or that's what I tell myself to make losing sting less, lol.

Also, mother took pity on me and bought me some water ices, so yay! It's cool when my pitifulness leads her to spoil me. :D Okay, so water ices aren't really healthy and shouldn't be a 'reward' for running around, sweating it out on a court- Katherine, my favorite bubble burster, informed me it's basically frozen sugar- but I have this bizarre affliction where I cannot read or watch something good without eating at the same time. Water ices are yummy, take a while to eat, they don't fill up your stomach and don't feel as naughty as say, chocolate. They're also way less expensive than chocolate, bonus!

But yeah, I have this compulsion to munch or gnaw on SOMETHING when reading or watching, otherwise I can't enjoy whatever it is I'm engaged in. One of the reasons I hate going to restaurants, because for some reason, it's considered rude to ignore the people you're with and read with your food. Stupid social conventions.

Memety meme meme.
[sorry,[ profile] spence_reid , had to steal that, it made me crack up so much!]

Summary: Shep and Elizabeth resolve their differences but who wins in the end?
Rating: PG. I couldn't write R if I TRIED. >_<
Disclaimer: If SGA were mine, Sparky would be canon.

A/N: Aaaand in breaking news, OMG, the alien dude at the center of the whole fight between Lizzeh and Shep finally gets a name! Whee! I suck at devising alien names, but it had to be done…

Additional disclaimer: I take my cue from eps such as Duet and Irresistible, which set the mood here- my ship likes to tease each other. Seriously, Shep is occasionally on par with the little boy pulling on the little girl’s pigtails to show his affection. Or at least, that’s how he is in this chapter. -shrugs-

*Elizabeth was working her way back up to exasperation again. He really should stop with this whole confession thing, it only seemed to help him dig an even deeper hole for himself.* )

So random, but I was looking at movies on sale and came across 'The Cutter', featuring JOHN SHEPHERD, a cop-turned-PI who saves a woman called ELIZABETH and gets caught up in some conspiracy and has to shoot a lot of bad guys. I'm sure Sparky fans have already picked up on this, but it amused me greatly.

While I was wasting time in the newsagency, I flicked through the Stargate magazine today, reflecting on how awesome they are for featuring Elizabeth in not one but two articles, dealing with changes in the team and 'in memoriam'. What struck me as particularly amusing was the breakdown of the various characters' personalities and significant developments and noted achievements.

Jennifer Keller:
Best known for playing parlor games to pass the time

Elizabeth Weir:
Best known for a soft-spoken diplomatic manner* that masks extraordinary courage and resolution.

Yah, tell me again which one deserved to be on the show more? Based on actual MERIT, thanks.

*Which I find amusing considering that when she negotiates, she usually ends up in ass-kicking mode, all feisty and GRRR, so 'soft-spoken' doesn't leap to mind...but maybe they mean in everyday situations, lol.

cut for teeny tiny Keller spoiler that I don't even think is a spoiler anymore but... )

I'm so ambivalent it's weird.

Bought the latest Stargate magazine to appear in Australia, the one with the Paul interview. I had sworn off it once Torri left, but here I am. And I was pleased that they still have references to Elizabeth and include a few pictures of her here and there, and came up with questions on her character in the quiz, so it's not like she's totally forgotten. Even though I'm totally grasping at straws and this doesn't make up for anything and it's nowhere near enough, but they're trying a little, at least. I hate the fact that they probably won't be interviewing Torri  ever again or having posters of Elizabeth, but I'm now at the point where I can actually read about the other actors without being totally bitter and hating the world.

That's not the weird part, though. The thing is, when they had Carter on the cover as 'leader of Atlantis' a while back, and when I read her 'mission reports' in the magazine as she oversees Atlantis and see posters of her with the Atlantis cast, I just feel so hostile and pissed off and I want to bash someone. But on the flip side of the Atlantis poster in this latest issue, there's Carter with Daniel, Cam and Teal'c. In contrast to the sober, grim Atlantis poster, all four are laughing, they're happy, they look like they're having a good time...and I entertain no mean thoughts about Carter, no hostility towards her, no desire to rip her to shreds- the only negative thing I have to say is that 'Omg, they left out Vala!'

Rating: PG.
Genre: Netty, you tralk, I know you're on LJ. TALK TO ME. XP
Setting: Season 3, pre Sunday. Because I live in denial.
Summary: Elizabeth is taken prisoner. She's in no mood to play damsel in distress.
Disclaimer: No infringement intended. Stargate Atlantis the show differs drastically from the way I write about it in my fics. I have way more respect and affection for Elizabeth than they do.
