"..the longer you think, the less you know what to do...'

West Wing, Obama style!

Awesome, y/y? I don't know half these people, but the fact that it's the WEST WING credits makes me shiver and squee. I am so easy. :P

I've got TWW on the brain. I just finished this awesome SGA/WW crossover, The Pacific Rim by Melyanna. Yes, I know it was from three years ago, shhh. It takes me a while to find the awesome, 'k? I just adore the paternal relationship the President has with Elizabeth, and god, but his one-liners crack me up. I think this is a hard show to write fanfic for, and it can easily be crap if you don't have their voices and speech patterns and all down, because it's got such a unique vibe to it. But this fic rocks. *luffs*

"Well",” he was saying, “"how is it that the members of the most important expedition in human history returned home, and I'm just now finding out about it?”"

“"Sir, General Hammond just told me,"” she protested. “"I told you as soon as I knew.”"

“"I understand that, C. J.,"” said Bartlet, “"but don't you think you should have known sooner? Was this totally unanticipated?”"

“"Apparently so, sir,”" she replied. “"Something to do with a. . . ZBL.”"

“"You got one out of three,”" he said. “"ZPM. I did read the report."”

“"Yes, and the scientist who was trying to explain it to me over the phone kept insisting on calling it a Zed-PM.”"

“"Ah, that would be Doctor Rodney McKay,"” said the President, putting on his jacket. “"Delightful man, really. Always very willing to tell you exactly how smart he is.”"

“"Well, he ought to fit in here.”"

“"What did you say?”"

“"Nothing, Mr. President.”"

“"I heard that, Claudia Jean.”"
“
“---
“
““"It's funny. When I met Doctor Weir, I was in my last term in the House, and she was lobbying for some anti-military group.”"

“"And now she's in charge of a sizable military force.”"

“"Exactly. You appreciate the irony, of course.”"

“"I am extraordinarily appreciative.”"

He looked up at her from the file in his hand as he put on his glasses. “"You should drop the adverbs, C. J. They make you sound insincere.”"

---

“"So Doctor Elizabeth Weir got the attention of the UN ambassador with alarming speed and was swept out of lobbying circles into the den of lions that is the United Nations.”"

“"You probably shouldn't describe the UN in such terms when anyone other than me is in the room.”"

“"Yeah, you're probably right.”" He resumed his reading. “"It says here that she's brokered some of the most sensitive deals in modern history. But enough about her. Let's talk about her right-hand man, Major John Sheppard. And let me tell you, you should find out if this guy is single."”

C. J. sighed. “"Sir, the last thing I need is a presidential setup.”"

“"Sure you do. Everyone does. And it's one of my new constitutional powers, along with the line-item veto.”" He turned a page in the file. "“I should promote this man.”"

“"I don't think you can, sir.”"

“"Why not? I can draft a turkey into military service.”"

“"Sir, must you bring that up?”"

“"As often as possible.” "

---
“
“"I want to meet with them.”"

“"Yes, sir, I'm sure you do," C. J. replied, getting to her feet, "“but you can't.”"

“"Why not?”"

“"Australia.”"

The President stopped and turned. “"Will Australians be terribly offended if I meet with a group of people who work for me?”"

“"No, sir,"” said C. J., “"you're going to Australia. Tonight.”"

“"Why am I going again?”"

C. J. knew he was baiting her, but on the slim possibility that he'd actually forgotten about the trip, she explained, “"You're going to the Pacific Rim conference.”"

“"Well, let's take them with us. There's room on the plane, and these people haven't had a vacation in months. Let's take them to Sydney."”

LOL. :D I'm falling in love all over again.

While on the topic of crossovers, I have such a craving for an SGA/TLW crossover fic. The idea of Sparky + M/R is ever so squeeful. *daydreams* I have visions of Elizabeth and Marguerite being held captive, having to dress up in some ridiculous yet hot outfit, and Marguerite telling her to use her feminine wiles and Elizabeth sighing, ‘Not again’. While both their Johns are angsting away about losing the love of their lives but trying not to be obvious about it, then realizing everyone knows anyway and then teaming up on pseudo-suicide missions to get the ladies back.

Sadly, I’m getting to the end of ff.net’s collection of LW fics. I have one more page to go and then that’s it. *woes* The most frustrating thing is that everyone keeps going on about Carolyn’s site and how TLWFIX is the most wonderful site in existence but of course it’s not operational anymore. This is what happens when you’re like, six years late to the fandom. Ugh.

Excellent. I'm glad my enthusiasm inspired you. Work away! :P

Thanks for the bread crumbs, I wasn't even expecting that much, so yay! I won't press for more, just bask in the happy anticipation of what you're cooking up. :D

I don't envy you this fic, I've thought about and tried doing post s-3 fics but it's just too hard figuring out what to do with the nanites. Major headache.

I am, the coolest person on the planet. *sits on throne smugly*

Hee! All hail the Queen of Cool. ♥

Ah, what to do with the Nanites...we'll, you'll be intrigued with what i've done, you'll see.

I'M THE QUEEN OF COOL?!!?!!? That means I get to be married to...oh wait...nah...i dun wanna be married to Travolta. (Gratuitus NCIS reference BOOYAH! *misses Kate/Tony*)

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ohh, you're a Kate/Tony shipper? Wait, what was it...Tate, I think? That fandom, all the ships work out perfectly when meshing names together. *pouts* Doesn't work in CM.

I miss Kate, full stop. I cried when I found out what happened. I shed way more tears than over Elizabeth, mainly because I was actually optimistic and never expected the latter to be treated the way she was, I thought that whole nanite thing was GOING SOMEWHERE. Ugh. Whatever you do with the plotline will be a million times better than what TATB did.

I was indeedy. I haven't been able to watch a whole season of NCIS since, even though I know for a fact that it's still good. Tate always worked and it erks me that after SWAT, they'd planned on heading for it!!! But, alas, I respect that Sasha wanted to leave the show to go become a member of the Sophia Loren dynasty and spend time with Lucia. (Ok, it worries me that I know all that.) But hey! Go and see "He's just not that into you." Because Sasha's in that. I don't know how much, but she's in it.

I miss Kate too! I remember hating myself because I was still intrigued by Ari, even after he killed her. My favourite episodes are still "Bete Noire", "Revielle" and...well, "Kill Ari", lol. Except for "Call Of Silence" which is my ALL TIME favourite episode.

The nanite thing was going somewhere. Only glitch was, it was going somewhere shit and Torri basically told them to shove it. Which is fantastic! Because i'd rather see that she's not on the show, than see her completely destroyed on the show. But yeah, I wept quite a bit when i saw Kate die. Nothing beats Janet Frasier's death though. I was absolutely and COMPLETELY unspoiled for that one. I didn't know anything about fandom, i'd even been around anything online, I barely even ever saw it air on TV. I just happened to catch it and I was sobbing all the way through, thinking it was Jack. Then when i learnt it was Janet, i cried more because she and Michael are the best actors and MY GOD! MY hands really hurt from typing this non-stop so fast....owie.

I was a...Kibbs shipper [god, I hate this ship names, it sounds like pet food!] so we were on different sides of the divide, but I haven't been able to watch it either. I got into it when Jenny joined, but then lost interest again after the writers began butchering all the characters.

Interesting, I didn't realize they were going to canonize Tate. Huh. I don't know if that changes anything, because if my ship died, then I might not have kept watching anyway.

Ha, I'm not a major fan of chick flicks, but for Sasha, I might rent it on dvd when it comes out. :P

Nothing beats Janet Frasier's death though. I was absolutely and COMPLETELY unspoiled for that one.

Same here. I had a vague feeling that someone was supposed to die, but I KNEW it wasn't going to be Jack, because- dude, they'd never kill the main guy, unless they were going to resurrect him like Daniel, so I was in this little bubble of cool and calm, so utterly confident that no one I knew was going to die, except maybe some minor person I didn't care about- then WHAM, JANET DIES, I FREAK OUT AND SOB HYSTERICALLY. At least with Kate, I knew it was going to happen, so I was prepared, but Janet.

This is why I hate the Stargate ATB. They have no compunction against killing off people we love for frakking RATINGS. They talk about how Heroes is one of the highest rating eps but does that translate into regular viewers every week following that? No. So WHYYY?
