Re: 2/2

Ha, goes to show how they target their audience, through sex appeal than smarts. Not surprised. I really like the green screen deal, everything's so pretty. I know it's not real but I just ooh and ahh over the shiny scenery and effects- like first ep, Ashley in that tunnel when the trains whips around and she has a split second to avoid smushage? Sooo pretty.

I'm in love with the mother/daughter relationship. I get so sick of shows where kids are brats and cause more trouble than they're worth and you wonder WHY the parents put up with them, and she and Magnus are just so wonderful to watch. I like when she fusses over Ashley- even if you are a tough cookie, it's nice to know someone cares.

And man, I'm not sure who I love more. Helen's supreme awesomeness, undeniably, but Ashley is good competition. I love how fearless she is, like when she meets that winged guy up on the narrowest little bars above the city with gusting winds and she's carrying on the convo like they're having coffee at a cafe or something, aiyiyi. [I was so sad that winged dude died, he was cool *sniffles*] She's so snarky and then almost cute, then whiplash to the psycho, it's uber-fun to watch. *sighs*

*g* I'm liking the lack of Magus/Will shippiness, I don't see them that way. I think maybe because she's so much more confident and assured and experienced in this world and he's still fumbling through it, he seems so innocent and naive right now [though you say that changes, yay] and I don't know, it seems more maternal than anything atm, but yeah, who knows about the future. So glad it's getting a second season!

Lol, do I know Bitch? I did a Marguerite fanvid (http://borg-princess.livejournal.com/57755.html) to it a while back. :P

Well, 4400 was a lot more mainstream than this, so apparently that means less with the moral dilemma and more about sexing and stuff. But I give it credit for dabbling a little, anyway. I don't like too much politics in my shows [I hate that in Stargate, with the politicians like Kinsey, with the NID, those eps are the worst] but it was interesting when they institutionalized the persecution of the 4400 and did some pretty nasty things to them and people were queasy over it.

"I will happily destroy the Cabal if that's what it takes to protect my own. You think you know what we're capable of but you are wrong. We have strength and passion and willpower, and we have access to men and women with powers you cannot begin to comprehend..."

'k, see, that would be win. Because it feels like this huge nasty corporation with ties everywhere against a teensy little family corner store, and I'm not liking the imbalance.

I really wish I had the whole series to marathon through right now, all these hints are getting me so excited, lol. I do support the whole 'ends justify the means' thing, and I can see that as something the Cabal and Sanctuary have in common, but the Cabal don't seem to care all that much about the fate of humanity or about the Abnormals, I'm thinking it's probably more power and greed, so meh.
