*nodnod* If it'd finished with OotP, I'd've been okay but HBP and DH just crucified everyone. Nobody's characterization escaped intact, it was awful. And everything was patched together by coincidence and pure luck and contrived circumstances, it was so shaky and ill-plotted! If people in this series just TALKED to each other...
I blame Dumbledore for everything. I never got why he didn't just say 'you need to destroy these Horcruxes before going up against Voldemort' instead of being cryptic and utterly unhelpful. For that matter, why couldn't anyone else have gone and destroyed the Horcruxes, all they needed was Harry to DIE at the right moment, how much simpler if the Horcruxes had been taken out of the picture already?
But let's go with Harry who never learned to Occlude so how Voldemort didn't realize what he was up to and stop him, I don't know...
I was only kidding about the Hr/S thing. I wasn't trying to put it down. To each his own!!!
Ah. *considers the long rant in the comment posted below* Oops? Oh, well, I had fun writing it. Nothing makes me happier than babbling about my ship and putting down R/Hr. GOOD my ass.
But I will say the age factor is really the one thing squicks me though...
Oh, yes. I get where you're coming from. Can't take offense at that because it's a common criticism and one that can't be dismissed. Hmm.
Well, I don't know about you in particular, but a lot of people go based on Alan Rickman who's 64. So that's a disturbingly large age difference.
[Even though I'm a massive AR fan and I'm in love with him so I DON'T CARE, lol]
But technically, Snape's about 19 years older than Hermione. That's doable for the fandom. *shrugs* Taking a leaf out of Shakespeare and Jane Austen, right? There were massive age differences in those days.
[But I have an older man/younger woman kink, so again, IDC]
Obviously you need to have a few...er, let's be charitable and call them 'personality quirks' to be into this ship, lol.
