Gosh, that's awful...nothing springs to mind...oh, wait, we think alike on SGA, right? Ding ding ding! Lol.

I'm actually surprised and pleased that I don't have any conflict with HP flisters. There are only one or two who actually share my ship and fandom opinions, and tons more who don't, including you, but we manage to be civilized and respectful. I don't get why fandom has to be such a hostile and unwelcoming place, why is it so hard for people to accept different tastes and opinions? I'll never understand that. *treasures her safe niche on LJ*

when people find out I hate...Rupert Grint they immediately assume I'm a rabid H/Hr shipper who hates Ron's guts

That's annoying, I hate when people TELL ME WHY I HATE SOMEONE. Like, 'Oh, it's only because they ruin your ship, so it doesn't count' and even when I come up with valid reasons why so-and-so offends me, apparently my opinion still doesn't matter one bit because I'm biased. Hello, everyone has biases, FFS! Shipping one way doesn't make me deaf, blind and dumb!

Look, I'm not a Ron fan but the movies totally trash his character. I think I pointed out a while back that it was like the movies WANTED to make him a huge ass, like in PoA- in the movie, Ron sides with SNAPE in picking on Hermione, wtf? So much for being her bff/love interest. In the books, though, Ron sticks up for Hermione and gets a detention for coming to her defense. Little things like that are lost onscreen. *shakes head*

In the end JK couldn't gather the energy or the interest to finish what she started, she ran out of steam by OoTP. So I blame the mis-characterizations on her horrible writing. What she did to Hermione in books six and seven is unforgivable, and the way she abandoned Luna in the Half-Baked plot, it pissed me off so much I almost cried. I missed Luna so much in book six but Rowling had to shove her into a dark corner to make room for Ginny and the chest monster.

Oh, hello, totally agree with you on that! Yay for shared fandom opinion!

JKR had a lot of potential, but she squandered it. I think some people speculated that it was her mother's illness or something and she was writing to work out her issues with death- like on the one hand, she was pissed at God or whoever for her mother dying, but otoh, she wanted to believe that the afterlife was good and so death brought peace, which is why DH was so schizo and Harry had the Death Squad cheering on suicide by Voldemort which...wtf, why would his parents who DIED FOR HIM actually support that?!

Anyway, yeah, while I have issues with books 1-5, I can live with it; 6 and 7 are just rubbish, though.

And LUNA. I love her so much, she's my third fave character and JKR never did anything with her! *headdesk* What a waste.

I don't ship it, but when I come across it in fics, I kinda like the idea of her and Harry together, I think she'd be better for him than GINNY at any rate.

I was taken aback by how they could make the main character such a big jerk, so insensitive and full of himself.

My issue was that he acted that way with LISBON. I don't really get too upset with random guest characters, but Lisbon? I draw the line there.

Ahh, well, if I have to blame Robin for the lack of conflict over what he did, I guess I'll back off. I love her too much to nag at her decision that way.

And I laughed so hard at your lizard analogy, that's funny and apt, I can totally see it! *shudders* I also have a lizard phobia- thank god we left Fiji when we did, I haven't come across a single lizard here since. [Except that time my class went to the zoo...and the guide brought a MASSIVE lizard out of its enclosure and passed it around...*twitches*]

Wait, WHAT? Why does Emma get hated on? What could people possibly pick on her about?!
