Oh, the horror. My parents confiscated my laptop due to abysmal exam results. I get to use it for two hours a day, which is awfully generous from their POV, but I'm mourning the end of my late night fic reading, watching random eps, and generally wasting time on pleasurable though non-constructive pursuits. It HURTS. >:[

But at least they didn't ban me from seeing my grandmother again. She's the only person I hang out with these days. And I love her dearly but that's a little sad. This week, though, I did something new and different. I spent an afternoon with someone of my age group! Okay, it was just my cousin- for whom I have a great deal of affection, but I have to admit that doesn't even qualify as toe-dipping in the raging treacherous waters of the young adult social scene.

This is sad. I don't have a cat so that means NOBODY will miss me. But I hear cats eat the flesh of their owners if they get hungry enough...that's a little creepy...whereas dogs will starve to death out of affection. Which pet would YOU prefer? :P

Thanks for reassuring me. *huggles* And aww, sweetie, I wouldn't let you die! I'd be the ambiguous type of evil, like, even if I decided not to give up my own kidney, I'd go kidnap someone so the doctors could harvest theirs! And it'd be a bad person so you wouldn't feel guilty. See, it all works out?! 'coz I'd never be so evil I'd be willing to lose a friend- why have status and power if you've nobody to enjoy it with, right? :D

Confiscation...is a word, I think. And heck yeah, it sucks. I was so desperate I offered to PAY the other half of the laptop's price, but they were unmoved. Ugh. I need to get High Distinctions-85% and higher- for my two psych units I'm currently studying before they will give it back with no strings attached. (Sooo screwed) Exams and results out in Feb, so I got a couple months of this purgatory, as you so aptly put it. *sighs*

A group of loners! What a great idea, like a support group, heh! It's cool that you get me, we are so alike, lol. It's good to know I'm not the only one in this situation. Misery loves company and all that. Though I love (most of) my family, so it's a bit unfair, but I want to feel like I matter to someone I'm not related to, you know? Family is pretty much obligated to care, they're stuck with you, but I need to have someone that isn't required to give a damn so I know it's ME and not my blood that matters. Anyway. Stranger Than Fiction? Not one of my top faves, but I adore Emma Thompson. :D

You know, I totally thought of you when I was writing about the cat thing, lol. And what you're saying makes sense, like, if I died and someone I love could live if they ate me, well, okay. I'm queasy but fine with it. But the idea that the cats may eye me as a food source while I'm ALIVE is disturbing...especially as Emmy's in a 'chomp anything that moves' phase, lol. O.o
