'Reality check- I’m your supervising agent, I’m not your decoy...'

Guys! God, that three day weekend was torture, I hate being away from LJ, it's my home, damn it, and I missed you all so much. *glomps everyone*

Btw? If you're feeling ignored lately, it's not you, it's me. I'm smack bang in the middle of exam period hell, plus we're getting ready to move out of rental limbo into the first home we've owned in my nearly-21 years of life. Hectic would be an understatement. But be prepared to be spammed with my love once it's settled down, 'k?

---

So, I only caught like, ten minutes of Sanctuary, but OMG! *spazzes out* Amanda! Brunette! British accent! GUH! I am totally excited.

* Will kinda reminds me of Daniel Jackson. The whole 'discredited genius that nobody takes seriously' thing? Yeah? Also, the way he brushed off Helen Magnus, was reminiscent of Daniel with Catherine Langford, and actually, with his other self in Continuum. Kind of an ass, impatient, abrupt...I really want to smack characters over the head when they do this. I'd be totally like, 'Hell yeah, bring on the wackiness, make my life more exciting, woo-hoo!' And he's just bailing on her, going back to his boring job, his boring existence... I would never play hard-to-get the way these characters always do, gargh.

* Don't hate me for this, but Ashley? Made me think of Buffy. Now, before anyone blows up at me for not looking past the blonde ass-kicking machine similarities, I've only seen her vroom-ing around on her motorcycle, I haven't even heard her speak yet. It's just I know she's supposed to  be witty and fierce and a really tough capable chick. Also she's blond. And I just read this really cool fic, Going Home Through a Starry Mirror, in which Buffy ends up in Stargate!verse as a nine year old amnesiac who's adopted by Carter, so I'm working on the whole 'daughter of a character played by Amanda Tapping' theme. I was pretty dubious about the concept of that fic, but it's really engrossing and I'd recommend it, 'tis a good read.

*Also? KAVAN SMITH! Why did nobody tell me he was in this? I have such a huge crush on this guy, my heart still goes all fluttery when I remember meeting him! *bounces*

Isn't he just utterly gorgeous?! *flails* He was so utterly sweet and charming and I honestly thought I might combust on the spot because I could barely contain all my happy and glee. *wriggles*

---

Much love and eternal gratitude to muzzy_olorea for directing me to the pretties. *squishes* I googled in vain, and would’ve never come across this shrine to Robin Tunney and Simon Baker without assistance, so *mwah* ^_^

After endless squee, I collected a few of my favorites for a mini Robin!picspam. [luxuria_oceanus, my fellow gawker of beautiful women, you should appreciate this on that advanced, sophisticated mental level we operate on...*g*] It's...probably not work-friendly. I don't know, it's fairly tame but I probably would make sure your boss isn't lurking behind you anywhere.

Um…so it took me a moment to realize she was probably pointing at the trophy. *coughs* My gaze followed her finger to a totally different destination… :P

-

-

I’m so used to seeing her as the sensible, practical Lisbon that my eyes about dropped out of my head to see the sexy, sultry side of her. *fans self* My brain's pretty much mush right now. Don't expect anything intelligent out of me for a while. [Do you ever?]

---

Vidspam:

OMG! I never realized this before but- are Lisbon and Jane actually HOLDING HANDS when they make a break for the car as it’s raining?!

-

I’ve always loved this scene because of its levity and whimsy and how hopeful it is. And shippy.

So, Jane’s just pretty much reinforced that he’s still determined to hunt down and kill Red John- vengeance! retribution! screw the law! damn her bourgeois conventional nature, he’s out for blood, rarrr!- but a second later...

Jane: Shall we?

...they’re skipping down the stairs, all smiles and giddy like little kids in the rain.

But are they holding hands? Damn you, blurry cap! I’m not convinced. PLEASE CONVINCE ME.

Amanda is GORGEOUS as a Brunette! Drop. DEAD. GORGEOUS. I tell you true. Just saw her a couple months ago at a con in my area. :D

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
I really like the hairdo! At this early stage, I'm gonna say I like it more than the blonde Carter do- which really irritated me at various points throughout the years. The length of the brunette style and the waves and everything, just works so well!

Damn it, Amanda, come to Australia! You have fans here, too! *pouts* I watched a con or two in the special features on the dvds but then I stopped because it made me so envious and upset, lol.

[identity profile] sunkrux.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
It does. :D

Can't help you with the getting Amanda to Australia thing. Sorry.

Just don't look at my lj when I finally get my photo op pics back from that con. ;-b

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, I'm a glutton for punishment, lol.
And anyway, I feel perfectly fine with hating on strangers at a con, but it's totally different if it's a friend, 'coz then I will simply squee with you and be happy that you got that opportunity.

[identity profile] sunkrux.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
LOL You're funny.

That was my 2nd photo op with Amanda. :D My first one was in 2006 when I went to the Vancouver SG1/SGA con.

[identity profile] dreamsofkate.livejournal.com 2010-04-09 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
as a random visitor let me explain that i was reading your fic (which i love) and stumbled on this, wanted to say i believe Amanda is coming out to australia in december for a Sanctuary convention. heads up

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the head's up, that sound exciting, I hope she makes it this year- she was supposed to come last year but had to cancel at the last moment, so fingers crossed!

And aww, thanks for the compliment, that's sweet of you!

[identity profile] kat-rowe.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Don't worry. Will really loosens up after the first 2 eps. The first 2 eps are based primarily on the webisodes and they were taking Will in a totally different direction than the series did. Having seen the entire first season, I'm more than comfortable as perciving Will as a profoundly damaged and very bitter man whose soul was quite literally saved by his inclusion into Magnus' world. He's underused on the whole for much of the first season, but given him a chance and I think you'll find him fairly likable. (You'll also find that, by episode 4, he's ditched the glasses because the producers for sick of people comparing him to Daniel. He's really not much like Daniel at all.)

I can see where Ashley might strike you as being Buffy-esque, although I think you'll find that she really isn't. She's a loose canon, I'll grant, but she's WAY more responsible and serious about the job she does than Buffy was at her best (even if Ashley IS highly irreverent). Ashley understands that the stakes are life-and-death. And, unlike Buffy, Ashley never goes through a "but i don't WANNA do this job!!!" phase. Ashley LIKES what she does, She's a considerably darker and more intense personality. but she has a playful side in spite of it all (i've probably quoted this for you before)

Ashley: *is on her way out the door*
Henry: "I thought your mom grounded you?"
Ashley: "She did. I'm just... going to out to get... some feminine products."
Henry: *smirks* "Feminine like a crate of uzies?"
Ashley: "Dude. You want me to get us some new toys or not?"

and, later, after an arms dealer has described all the illegal modifications to an assault-riffle

Ashley: *laughs* "Sylvio, stop it! You're turning me on..."

or, when Will's trying to wrap his head around the things that go on at the Sanctuary

Ashley: "Oh, or, hey! Mom, remember the summer I turned 18?" *looks at Will* "We cleaned otu this ENTIRE den of werewolves--"
Will: "Okay, now you're just playing with me."
Ashley: *stares* "Uh... you got the tour, right?"

She's a lot of fun and, whilst profoundly messed up, not nearly as much of a self-destructive mess as Buffy was.

And I'll stop justifying my fav fandom now *hug*

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
You'll also find that, by episode 4, he's ditched the glasses because the producers for sick of people comparing him to Daniel.

Seriously? Daniel Jackson Daniel? If so, I feel so smug, I totally called that comparison, ha! It's something I do when I first watch a show, I can't help but compare it with every other one in my experience. It's not that I think it's a bad thing for them to be alike, I have very particular preferences and I'm happy when something I like from one show is replicated in another!

[People that go, 'oh, time travel or mind-wiping or groundhog day, we've seen this before, how lame' irritate me so much, it's not the originality I'm after but the way the writers toy with it- like I'd seen the idea of replacing a character's memories to make them think they murdered someone before in Voyager but I really enjoyed the Cam version in SG-1 because ot the different approach]

Wow, Ashley is several notches up from Buffy already in my book, then. I love irreverence, but I really hate it when characters who face life-and-death situations don't act like it matters. Humor is important to stay relatively sane, I get that, but it gets to the snotty overly flippant point sometimes and I want to thwack them, ugh. [JOHN CONNOR, I'm looking at YOU]

I wiki'd Ashley and I kinda love her so much that the season finale is making me flip out just a little. Gone to the dark side, wtf? *sniffles*

Hee, you don't have to justify it, I'm already thoroughly hooked on it! All your fault! Dude, I can already QUOTE from this show without having seen an entire episode! I was reading a book yesterday where the character said 'I'm not common at all' or something and I giggled, 'HA, HELEN MAGNUS'. Hee.

[identity profile] kat-rowe.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well, like you said "disgraced young academic" ... boy could have been put together like Vin Deisal and "disgraced young academic" probably still would have have had them comparing Will to Daniel, lol.

*nods* I think it was Isaac Assimov or Robert Heinlein who said "There are only five or six original ideas in all of science fiction." Execution really IS what matters because there aren't any original ideas ANYWHERE in the world any more.

*nods* Ashley WILL mouth off to her opponents, but you get the distinct impression that this is a part of her strategy. In no way does it indicate any lack of respect or gravity. And this is despite the fact that she's so confident in her ability to win that it REALLY shakes her when she has to admit to Henry about Druitt that "He moves faster than me. If that's even POSSIBLE." ... it freaks her out. But she still takes Druitt as a serious threat even though he's out cold and she doesn't think he's going to wake up any time this week, she still has him put in the SHU rather than GenPop because she recognizes that he's still a threat. So TOTALLY not flippant about her work.

You'll see, lol. It's scary but satisfying. Especially since i seriously spent the whole season fully believing that this chick was capable of snapping and going RENEGADE. Just not like THAT, 'cause DAMN...

:) Well, it's true. Helen Magnus is NOT so common...

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not a big fan of Will. He doesn't irritate me, but I do sigh at his naivete a lot of the time. He still acts like there are rules on what's possible and not and I want to shake that out of him!

Also, the way he overreacts to things...Okay, so I'm not going to be put in the position where I meet ape-men creatures, but DUDE, CHILL. The guy's trying to offer you a cup of tea and you're wigging out like he's pointing a gun at your head? Not cool. I love how Helen acts all calm, like it's totally normal and why is he freaking out so bad? Tsk, tsk. Lol.

I love Ashley! She's so deceptively chirpy and cute and funny, and then she turns on the badass and RAWR. Shame she had to be 'rescued' by Will, though- yes, I'm resenting him for that. Hmph.

Also, that scene with her and Druitt was super cool, I replayed it so many times! I love that she pulled the trigger- too many times, you have these characters that'll wimp out or will be all hung up on 'morality' or some such in a LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION and I cheered when she pulled the trigger, even if he was too fast for her. Ouch, he beat up on her good. *winces* I do love that she's not cocky and overconfident, that air of bravado is like a tactical thing. Plus it's funny. :D

[identity profile] kat-rowe.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Will was even worse with the Big Guy in the webisodes, lol. Passed out cold the first two or three times he saw him. Squirming away just doesn't seem that bad after that. And if you're still seeing him saying "that's not possible" you can't have seen past "Fata Morgana" (ep 3). After that it's more like

Will: "They look like furbies, reproduce faster than tribbles, eat more than tribbles, and turn us all into sex maniacs?" *nods* "Yeah, we should probably come up with a way to contain these guys."

Clara: "What the hell just happened?"
Will: "Dude who invented the radio" *points to Tesla* "just dissed Jack the Ripper." *points to Druitt*
Clara: *blinks*
Will: *keeps walking like he didn't say anything weird*

But it would be weird if he weren't freaked out a bit. a normal person would be

Oh, yeah. Ashley is one hard-core piece of badassitude in highly deceptive gift-wrap ;p

Oh, yeah. That scene between her and Druitt was great. Their chemistry when they're at odds is amazing. Wait until you see them in "The Five"...

[identity profile] mcgarrygirl78.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
I have loved Robin Tunney ever since she did Empire Records and she shaved her head on screen. She was awesome and the role was too small.....damn Liv Tyler and her film debut.

Anyhoo, you are giving me more and more reasons to check out The Mentalist.

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
You know, Robin never really registered on my radar, then after watching Mentalist, I happened to see The Craft again and was like, OMG, LISBON? A WITCH? Hehe. It's one of my favorite supernatural/horror movies now. I've heard good things about Robin in Empire Records, I think I'm gonna dig around and see if I can pick up a copy.

I think you'll enjoy it! The first season of Mentalist is brilliant. I can't fault a thing about it, except maybe it could've been longer, lol. The second- well. *sighs* Fingers crossed.

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
OMGHAI! I haven't spoken to you in ages! *squishes* Hope life's gong good! ^_^

[identity profile] sunny-serenity.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Some old skool RT for ya...

And some newer stuff...

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
THESE ARE AMAZING! *TACKLEHUGS* OMG, I LOVE YOU!

*gazes gleefully*
Look at her rock the shaven head look, like whoa! I love her eyes, they're so large and expressive and beautiful.

She's all ethereal in the singlet/jeans [I envy the woman for looking beautiful no matter what she wears, she could literally be wearing a sack and she'd be ten times hotter than your average model] and I love the suppressed smile on the middle one!

I think she's stunning in all these pics, but I do think I prefer longer hair on her- even if Jane was all about the choppy Peter Pan look. Lol. ['Good for the eyes'- I always thought that meant hers, like, it'd accentuate her eyes but maybe he meant he'd appreciate the view, lol]

I hate myself for not caring about her in Prison Break. I didn't watch it past season one, and I didn't even watch all of season one, but I remember I really didn't give a damn about her and that makes me feel so lame right now. *facepalm*

Anyway, better late than never, right? I saw the light. Angelic chorus and everything, lol. *sighs contentedly* Thanks for hitting me with these pics, it's distracting me a little from the season 2 woe. *frowns* Not thinking about that, damn it. Back to the happy place. *runs*

[identity profile] sunny-serenity.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
RT is the reason Empire Records is such an awesome movie. She rocked the emo before it was called emo. BTW, if you haven't seen it you should. Not the Fan Mix version but the theatrical release and THEN the FM version. Also, she's brilliant in Niagara, Niagara.

FOR SHAME! But hey, greatness sometimes takes a while to shine in some peoples eyes. And yeah I only watched the bits she was in for the first season of PB. Cos I thought the show was kinda lame... aaaaaanyway...

[identity profile] woodchoc-magnum.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
Is it weird that I totally remember her from Empire Records and The Craft? She was my favourite character in Empire Records. Head shaven emoness FTW!

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-11 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Hell no, why would that be weird? I totally need to get my hands on this Empire Records movie, everyone keeps singing her praises in it! I really like her hair, though, so I'm not sure about the head shaveness, but she looks pretty hard core!

[identity profile] mere-dil.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
omg.. am I the only one that is fearful from digging in the past of a fav. shoe/actors
'coz sometimes I think my whole opinion would change based on what I saw.. (though
sometimes I take the risk) but actors like simon and robin I know I'll never have to dig about them deeper..lol

** it's funny how we notice things for the first time when we watch reruns.. but don't tell me
u didn't see them holding hands in that scene.. COME ON!!!! it's the point of it all *giggles*

yeah dear THEY ARE HOLDING HANDS (just to make sure you're convinced hahaha)

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-16 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean...but I've been lucky, every actor I've fangirled has been worthy of my devotion, I haven't yet come across one whose past or personal life has made me question them.

I DIDN'T NOTICE THE HANDS! BUT NOW I AM CONVINCED, AND OH, THE SWEET JOYYYYY! When I watched it, I was like, 'Oh, yay, look at how close they are, whee!' but I never really thought they'd hold hands because it seems uncharacteristic! I love my ship being like children, playing in the rain... :D

[identity profile] laurandbillever.livejournal.com 2009-06-09 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
*hugs* you LJ misses you back, you know? ^_^

moving to a new place sounds sooo good!! And when it is your own home is even better!! You have to describe your room and so on as soon as possible!! ^_^

And... wait a minute, is that Amanda from Sanctuary the same Amanda a friend of mine is crazy about? What is the full name of that actress? Because she definitely looks familiar...

those pics are... wow!!!

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-16 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, you're so sweet. :D

I haven't seen the house yet! My parents have been going by there every night while the building was happening- even when it was nothing but a pile of dirt *eyeroll*- and now my father's staying nights there til we're all moved in, 'coz he wants to protect the furniture and stuff that we've got so far. But I haven't been there yet, because I want to see it when it's all ready to live in, lol. I want the end result!

Amanda, lots of people are crazy about Amanda Tapping, well known for playing Samantha Carter in Stargate SG-1. But the pics I posted are of a totally different actress, Robin Tunney. And yes, WOW is one word for it! *g*

[identity profile] laurandbillever.livejournal.com 2009-06-18 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
^_^

Ah, the end result, huh? :P So... no helping with the moving? You, Missy, are lazy :P:P:P

Ah, I was thinking of another Amanda- Amanda Drew or something like that... The pics of the actress above are similar to hers... but there are so many actresses with the same appearance and I am not really good with recognising them at all :D

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
I had exams! Valid excuse right there, okay? *sticks out tongue*

Sadly, I no longer have that excuse and I think the plan is that I'm spending the weekend scrubbing away like Cinderella. *sighs*

Yeah, I know what you mean, some of them are really similar and if you're not in the fandom, you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference. What other Amandas do I know...? Hmm, not many. There's Amanda Peet from the X-files movie...

Image

...other than that, drawing a blank.

[identity profile] laurandbillever.livejournal.com 2009-06-29 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
ah, ok then :P Excuse accepted :P:P

Hehe- got any prince looking for your little shoe, Cinderella? :P

Ah, definitely not the Amanda my friend is crazy about... but remembering the faces of all actresses while trying to learn 5000 SAT words is mission impossible anyway :P

[identity profile] luxuria-oceanus.livejournal.com 2009-06-10 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
O.O

See, this is where NOT being a guy is a good thing, or else I'd have a boner to worry about.

And OH MY GOSH, is that teddy bear pretty much BLINDFOLDED?!

Holy shit on a stick, the kink! THE KINK! And, ha ha! You're not the only one who thought she was pointing somewhere else ('cause who'd want to look at the trophy when... look, something shiny!)

O.O AND YOU MET KAVAN SMITH! *.* Cuteness does not begin to cover it. It simply DOES not. (And you do have a pretty smile, :-P! ANNIE! You're Annie, I'm Ani, we be Ani-ie! LOL)

Awwww, you is shyppy! I think they look like they are holding hands, so yay for ship!

And dude, I missed you too! *glomps*

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-10 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ahaha! Knew you'd get a kick out of this post!
And ZOMG, I NEVER NOTICED THE TEDDY BEAR BLINDFOLD! I was too busy flailing at how kinky it is when she mixes the little miss innocent look with this incongruous sensuality and it just blows my mind. GONE. BOOM.

If that hadn't done it, the one with her TONGUE...and her FINGERS...*head!splodes* And so it builds til that very last pic. Dear god. askdf!@#$%&*!brain!splosion!

You're not the only one who thought she was pointing somewhere else ('cause who'd want to look at the trophy when... look, something shiny!)

*snickers* It's so good to have someone who thinks like me. I love being all pervy-minded with you. :D I'm thinking the camera guy forgot what he was taking a picture of, too, because it's definitely not the trophy being framed in that shot. :P

[By the by, your first line reminded me of this guy at high school who decided it would be fun to set all of us girls shrieking at the highest pitch imaginable and threatening him with physical violence by claiming that guys have it worse than women because they get inconvenient erections- yeah, because that really compares with the pain of our periods, RIIIGHT. *shakes head*]

I KNOW, I KNOW, KAVAN, HEEEEE! I swear I thought I was going to keel over when I met him! The thing with meeting the 'big stars' is that you don't get much time with them, they're always rushed, whereas I got to chat a little with Kavan because everyone was lining up for David [my friends were in that line, so I didn't have to rush off] and it was just amazing. Mostly it was me trying not to squee out loud at hearing him speak to me, lol. But god, that autograph makes me so happy, I don't even care if he uses that line on all the girls, it made me feel special! (Aww, thank you! And lol at the name-smush!)

*GLEES* People are making fun of me for not figuring it out til now but it's okay! Because I've got something new to be giddy over! Three years of virtually no Sparky touching and we get all this physical contact, it's just so awesome. *IZ HAPPY*

*g* Always nice to know people notice when I'm not around. Totally not by choice. *sighs* Damn RL. *trots off to stalk flist*

[identity profile] luxuria-oceanus.livejournal.com 2009-06-10 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL!!!

Well, coming from the person that can see the kink in ink (don't ask me how that makes sense), yes, I could not help but notice the teddy bear's blindfold XD as well as the location!

Hmmm.... the guy has a point in the sense that, yes, inconvenient erections are embarrassing, and they are actually painful when you get them excited/hard beyond belief (to the point of blue balls) that it hurts to even TRY to make it go down (ice pack, anyone?) But to say that THAT is worse than a 7-day-cramp? Or even LABOR?

OH, KISS MY WHITE SHINY ASS, YOU FOOL!

XD See, I've never been to a con, and truth be told, and somewhat thankful for it. I don't think I could speak in front of them. I wouldn't do anything crazy like jump their bones or beg them to marry me (see, that's good for the imagination, but to act it out, it's a wee bit much!), but I would probably stutter, my voice would go up a few octaves and I'd be probably shaking (and may or may not feint due to breath-holding, not sure). So yeah, I am safest away from their shiny awesome.

Hey, I totally noticed, but remembered you saying something about no in-home net so *pets* I knew you were alive :-P

[identity profile] luisa-f.livejournal.com 2009-06-10 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
She's gorgeous, I have such a huge girlcrush on her, it's at times like this when it hits me how they tone down her looks for the show, like how they dress her in clothes that don't showcase her figure (and what's with her never wearing skirts? She has great legs). Though I have this theory about the never wearing skirts, about how maybe she has a scar on one her legs because she was in the car when he mother died, and that why she won't show her legs. But it's only a theory.

On J/L, they're totally holding hands in that scene, I've watched it in slow motion and you can see how the're grabbing eachother's hands and the moment when they let go. The first time I saw it I was so thrilled, OMG a pairing who actually touched and held hands and played in the rain.

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-06-15 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
RT's my number one girlcrush, for sure. It seems impossible to keep from bursting into song and twirling around like an extra in a musical when I think about how much I love her. ^_^

And dude, RIGHT ON, she looks great in plain jeans and tops but that's because she's so gorgeous that she could rock a sack-cloth and a bag over her head. Are they afraid she might be TOO attractive for the show or something?! Pfft. Maybe they're afraid of people collapsing from the overwhelming pretty if she does get all made up and dressed fancy.

Hey, neat theory, that's- wow, you have such a fantastic perspective on these characters, you know that? I could never come up with reasons and backstory like you do, that's a really great suggestion. [Although it'd invalidate all those fics where Jane turns up on her doorstep unannounced and she offers ample ogling opportunity by answering the door dressed in skimpy little shorts/singlet- or the most unrealistic one yet, in her towel, right. *snorts*]

*whimpers* I need HD, because it's so blurry but I'll take your word for it. Did they both reach for each other or did one of them grab hold of the other? *curious*

It's just so- they're so perfect, it's unbelievably awesome! Like, who'd've thought one of my couples could hold hands in the rain?! And I love that they do all these shippy things while maintaining the UST!

[identity profile] luisa-f.livejournal.com 2009-06-15 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
That describes how I feel perfectly, she's so cute EEEEE! I'd been following her since Empire Records and The Craft, she has done a lot of independent work, seems to be her thing, and I only watched Prison Break for her, what a boring show, I dropped it as soon as they killed Veronica, oh, and House pilot episode too, but just the pilot. But it only escalated to girl crush with TM, it was like with Helena Bonham Carter, she had always been one of my favorite actresses, but the real fangirling began with Corpse Bride.

That must be it, I cannot find anyother explanation, the boss cannot be too hot, But they weren't counting of it shinning through, they can dress her in a shirt and pants, and man shoes and she will still be freaking hot.

Thanks, *blushes* GOD those fics are a guilty pleasure of mine but some of them are so OOC, Jane sees Lisbon in a towel and suddenly wants to have sex with her. I like a little more built up, like thirty chapters of angst before the sex, slow burn, that's what I like, whump be it emotional or physical. But no, BAM! Lisbon get's kidnapped/shot/stabbed and then they done sex.

I think they're holding hands when they jump, and then they let go when they get to the car, you can clearly see they're holding hands.

Granted my caps aren't HD, but you can see their hands.

They are so cute, I definitely wasn't expecting this from this show, I thought it would be Jane centered without much focus on the team, and after SGA I wasn't expecting to see so much of the boos lady. And the UST took me by surprise. And I certainly wasn't expecting so much cuteness from a procedural.

:D

*squishes you back*

You have no idea how happy I was to have this post waiting for me on my return from holiday!

I love Robin Tunney. She's the reason for me deciding to check out The Mentalist in the first place.

I think they definitely are holding hands. When I watched the scene I thought they were and flailed and I've seen other people say they are too. Whilst I love the fact they are I feel it's a little bit out of canon? I don't know, it's quite a personal thing holding someone's hand even for a moment of fun like that? Maybe I'm just over-analysing. :)

Whee, you have returned! *tacklehugs*

RT is just- GUH. She makes me lose my words. I could gaze at her for an eternity and still not fully comprehend and appreciate her beauty.

Y'know, the only show I knew her from was Prison Break and- *clutches head*- I didn't like her character! I feel so ashamed of myself. So, if anything, it was despite her that I watched Mentalist and I am so glad I did.

You're the first person to actually go there. I kinda agree- I'm on board with handholding because OMGSQUEE! A ship that can touch without alien influence or possession or anything!

But it's a little out of character. Jane would do that because we've seen him grab her hand before [to check the time, once, I think? And when he was issuing orders over her walkie-talkie in Miss Red] but for Lisbon to be all giddy and bouncy and not jerk back...I love it, I totally love it, but it is uncharacteristic!

I do enjoy the sight of impulsive!Lisbon, though, we so rarely see her. It's like she forgot who she is, who he is, all the darkness and the angst and trouble, and just- reacted, went with the moment. 'tis lovely. ^_^

Thanks for the mention

Hi there this is theICEBear.

I wanted to thank you for pimping my fic Going Home Through a Starry Mirror :)

I am glad you liked it. I wrote it mostly after watching the first Cassandra episodes of Stargate SG-1 and deciding that I wanted to do something weird like spend a year of my life writing a Buffy/Stargate crossover.

Anyway, I wanted to say thanks and give you a virtual hug of thanks.

Aww, totally welcome! It's a great fic and I wish I could remove all memory of it from my brain just so that I could read it once more and enjoy it as a whole new fresh and wonderful experience. It's definitely one I'll be re-reading in the future. You're very talented! *squishes*
