The good.
OMG, OMG, OMFG, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
I was just looking up the Armageddon line-up for this year and I might COLLAPSE FROM EXCITEMENT.

I'm just not sure if these guys are doing the Melbourne expo or just Sydney so I don't want to celebrate just yet in case my dreams are crushed like a fat squishy bug splatting underfoot, but oh, the hope. Please, if there is a god, make it so? *wistful*
I'm a little worried, though- two dudes from Twilight [Michael Welch and Kellan Lutz?] are also appearing which means that as crazy packed and lengthy-queue-waiting tiring as it's been in the past two years, it's probably gonna be more squished and exhausting by a factor of a gajillion. *sighs* Twilight fans are crazy, yo. [If anyone makes a crack about the pot calling the kettle black...I'm warning you]

The bad.
Leverage season 2 spoilers. >:[
What's with shows having a brilliant first season and then frakking with the dynamics in the second? If it ain't broke, DON'T FRELLING FIX IT. JEEZ. First there's that business with Lisbon's ex in Mentalist, and now we have Sophie's new love interest. Whoop-de-bloody-doo. I was so thrilled when I heard it was back on but now? My bubble has burst. *sniffles* Somebody tell me it'll all be okay?
I know people are rationalizing away the boyfriend because her relationship is supposed to result in development with the Sophie/Nate relationship, but I don't care. I don't always need a ship to enjoy a show [Dollhouse, for instance] but when I do have a ship, messing with it often means I either drop the show or take a break. I ditched Stargate during that misguided Pete era, ugh. If anyone would like to let me know which eps are heavy on the extraneous-love-interest and warn me, I'd appreciate that.

And the cracky.
GUYS, Peter Garrett looks like John Druitt. *flails*

Does anyone find this freaky at all? Our Arts Minister resembling Jack the Ripper, omg! :P
Even their names are similar- John and Peter are old traditional names, they were the apostles in religious texts.
And Gar-ret/Dru-itt. Come ooon. I don't think I'm reaching here, do you? 'k, maybe a teensy little bit, but...
Their cohort.

Their manic grins.

Careers.
Garrett- former singer, now MP.

Druitt- badass, past and present.

Can be found:
Garrett- making speeches

Druitt- freaking people out

I rest my case. ^_^
---
Also, the pretty.
Emma Watson to star in Marilyn Manson's creepy movie musical based on Cinderella. [Articles here and here]

Doesn't she look like a princess in the first one? *coos*
But then I remembered that this is a dark gothic fairytale, so she might end up looking more like the latter.

I love those whimsical outfits, she looks gorgeous!
I'm looking forward to seeing what she can accomplish outside of Harry Potter. I hope this movie's a success for her- it's annoying how articles keep saying it's her first time straying beyond HP territory when she made Ballet Shoes and voiced a character in Despereaux. I really want her to succeed on her own. *optimistic*

Not the best quality, but it's the only semi-decent one I could find. I WANT THIS ON DVD NAO, PLZ. Oh, the rib-busting hilarity.... *wipes away tears of laughter*

getmake you a prezzie or two. ;) I'm going to San Diego on your birthday so I won't have access to a puter that day.no subject
Safe trip to San Diego- have fun! Or don't be too miserable if it's work-related. ;P

Emma Watson's all grown up, isn't she? Lovely young lady. How old is she now?
I agree that Garrett bears something of a resemblance to Druitt, but Druitt is both hotter and more terrifying and, I should imagine, considerably more seductive... Even if their manic grins were unsettlingly similar *shudders* I was lmao for the whole pic!spam :) Brilliant points of comparrison :)

Lol, Crais groupie, really? Learn something new every day.
I think Emma's about 19 now, she's so wonderfully level-headed and poised, here's hoping she maintains that. I'm not going to talk about her being a 'role model' because it pisses me off when people apply that label- she signed on to be an actress, okay, parents? Not to guide your children on their morality and work ethic and all the other things you should be teaching them- but it's great to see her not going nuts like a lot of other child actresses.
Hee, I'm glad you enjoyed the comparison, I was thinking 'gee, I hope Kat doesn't think I'm being disrespectful here'...'k, not really, I know you have a sense of humor. And anyway, I blame this on YOU, with your brain-washy-ness and picspamming... There was a picture of Garrett in the paper the other [something about a backflip over uranium mines or some such] and in my new Sanctuary-ified state of mind, I immediately freaked out. Doesn't fandom make life fun? :D
Druitt is both hotter and more terrifying and, I should imagine, considerably more seductive...
ITA. I love Druitt's cheekbones, I have a thing about cheekbones. As for seductive...yes, this guy is lethal, killed a whole bunch of people back in the day, of course I find him more appealing than the politician...where is my mind? I am so drawn to power. *sighs*
Even if their manic grins were unsettlingly similar *shudders*
O.O THAT IS SO WRONG. I had to double-and-triple check to make sure I hadn't accidentally mislabeled the pictures, because that threw me. Spoookyyyy... ^_^

Yes, I was a Crais groupie. There's nothing like a baddie who's so completely effed up that every attrocity he commits is an expression of his love for his own family ;p
Emma's lovely and I do think it's wonderful she's not turning into the train-wreck a lot of child stars do, but I'm also completely with you on not liking to consider actors and actresses to be role-models. That's as ridiculous as listening to celebrities when they wiegh in on science they know nothing about. so stupid...
Fandom does make life fun and you feel free to blame me all you want. Always happy to earn new converts. It's like the icon says "Come over to the Dark Side. We have cookies." Only ,in this case, we have screencaps ;p Here, have a few which highlight the seduction-value:
Druitt: "Well, hello, Nikola..." (Are you enjoying the unspeakable thing I'm doing to you?)
http://sanctuary-caps.com/displayimage.php?pid=15137&fullsize=1
Druitt: *in his mind* "Oh, yes. This is what I miss about being the Ripper..."
Will: *in his mind* "I'm not seeing this, not seeing it, not seeing it, not seeing it..."
http://sanctuary-caps.com/displayimage.php?pid=22345&fullsize=1
"We may hate each other, but that doesn't make us less hot together..."
http://sanctuary-caps.com/displayimage.php?pid=23411&fullsize=1
and a pic that makes me jealous of Nikola Tesla's right index finger:

Famous politician or notorious serial killer. I know which one I'd pick :) Who needs value-judgments when you've got cheekbones like that?

Also, you know how in these movies, one of the characters always has to make a gigantic gesture to prove their love? It's a compulsory scene in this genre, usually utterly ridiculous and cringeworthy [Made of Honor comes to mind] but it was pulled off well here. It wasn't some unrealistic, far-fetched move here, just a guy in an office, trying to convince the woman he loves to be with him. No gimmicks. Niiiice.
They handled the other relationships well, too- I liked seeing the parents, and how his gruff, antagonistic father eventually came around to his POV. That was done so well- they nearly came to blows earlier on, and then he pretty much sabotaged the romance and then the sympathy when he realized what his son had lost...I thought it was hilarious when the mother and grandmother were all like 'if she didn't love him, she wouldn't have left' and he's just bewildered, 'THIS MAKES NO SENSE', hee. Poor guy, it's the sort of thing women instinctively grasp and males are confounded by. *g*
OMG, the scene with the dog and the eagle! 'Take the dog, take the dog!' And the mother and grandmother think it's so cute how she's playing with the pet when really she's trying to feed it to an eagle, lmao. This movie's so awesome!

Further more: can't wait for "The Proposal" to finally start here in Germany, awesome scene! *gg*

'k, bb, as long as you know there is no guarantee that I will be going to the con- 'coz I don't want you to get your hopes up and it's months to go yet, you never know if she might *gulp* cancel for some reason [Michael Shanks was supposed to come last year and he bailed at the last minute]- but if I do, I will totally get you an auto from her. I'll let you know closer to time if it's happening, but please don't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen. *squishes*
Seriously, Proposal hasn't started there yet? I'm so used to Australia being the bottom of the list to get new movies and shows [my cousins in Samoa get movies weeks before us- Samoa, for crying out loud, this little island nobody knows about or mixes up with Fiji] but duuude, you gotta go see it when it comes out, totally worth it! I'm contemplating getting someone to take me again since it's my birthday and if I want to watch the movie again, I should be able to, goshdarn it. ^_^
no subject
Aw, I promise I won't be too hopeful, this would be completely against my normal self ;) But knowing that you'd do it IF everything works out means already a lot to me, thanks :) *huggles*
Hehe, oh my, *giggles* Even Samoa? Really? Germany tends to live behind the moon, too, when it comes to interesting and entertaining stuff. Sometimes we even have to wait more than a year to finally watch a movie from the US - or a TV show *grumbles* But I just checked the schedule and "The Proposal" should start TOMORROW, yay! *happy dances* I LOVE movies with Sandra Bullock, plus there's Ryan Reynolds in it - what else can a girl wish for? xD
I hope you'll be able to find someone who'll watch it again with you, have tons of fun! ♥
