The good.
OMG, OMG, OMFG, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
I was just looking up the Armageddon line-up for this year and I might COLLAPSE FROM EXCITEMENT.

I'm just not sure if these guys are doing the Melbourne expo or just Sydney so I don't want to celebrate just yet in case my dreams are crushed like a fat squishy bug splatting underfoot, but oh, the hope. Please, if there is a god, make it so? *wistful*

I'm a little worried, though- two dudes from Twilight [Michael Welch and Kellan Lutz?] are also appearing which means that as crazy packed and lengthy-queue-waiting tiring as it's been in the past two years, it's probably gonna be more squished and exhausting by a factor of a gajillion. *sighs* Twilight fans are crazy, yo. [If anyone makes a crack about the pot calling the kettle black...I'm warning you]

The bad.
Leverage season 2 spoilers. >:[

What's with shows having a brilliant first season and then frakking with the dynamics in the second? If it ain't broke, DON'T FRELLING FIX IT. JEEZ. First there's that business with Lisbon's ex in Mentalist, and now we have Sophie's new love interest. Whoop-de-bloody-doo. I was so thrilled when I heard it was back on but now? My bubble has burst. *sniffles* Somebody tell me it'll all be okay?

I know people are rationalizing away the boyfriend because her relationship is supposed to result in development with the Sophie/Nate relationship, but I don't care. I don't always need a ship to enjoy a show [Dollhouse, for instance] but when I do have a ship, messing with it often means I either drop the show or take a break. I ditched Stargate during that misguided Pete era, ugh. If anyone would like to let me know which eps are heavy on the extraneous-love-interest and warn me, I'd appreciate that.

And the cracky.
GUYS, Peter Garrett looks like John Druitt. *flails*

Does anyone find this freaky at all? Our Arts Minister resembling Jack the Ripper, omg! :P

Even their names are similar- John and Peter are old traditional names, they were the apostles in religious texts.
And Gar-ret/Dru-itt. Come ooon. I don't think I'm reaching here, do you? 'k, maybe a teensy little bit, but...

Their cohort.

Their manic grins.

Careers.

Garrett- former singer, now MP.

Druitt- badass, past and present.

Can be found:

Garrett- making speeches

Druitt- freaking people out

I rest my case. ^_^

Also, the pretty.
Emma Watson to star in Marilyn Manson's creepy movie musical based on Cinderella. [Articles here and here]

Doesn't she look like a princess in the first one? *coos*
But then I remembered that this is a dark gothic fairytale, so she might end up looking more like the latter.

I love those whimsical outfits, she looks gorgeous!
I'm looking forward to seeing what she can accomplish outside of Harry Potter. I hope this movie's a success for her- it's annoying how articles keep saying it's her first time straying beyond HP territory when she made Ballet Shoes and voiced a character in Despereaux. I really want her to succeed on her own. *optimistic*

Not the best quality, but it's the only semi-decent one I could find. I WANT THIS ON DVD NAO, PLZ. Oh, the rib-busting hilarity.... *wipes away tears of laughter*

Mmkay, I love you for this post. It's made of all things brilliant and shiny. And I'm so glad I have another person to squee with over The Proposal, because that movie is made of serious win, I've watched it a couple times already (thank god for the internets!) and it never gets old. Especially that scene. I hadn't laughed as hard as I did while watching that movie in a really long time. I was just about to beg the f-list to give me screen caps and/or icons.

:D It made me feel kinda bouncy and gleeful ['cept for the 'bad' section, of course] so yay for sharing the joy with you! Omg, The Proposal is such a brilliant movie- I was afraid to see it because I thought it would be like all those other rom-coms which constantly humiliate the main characters and engage in lame-brained zero-amusement crass jokes [which, I guess, would be the scene with the 'strip tease', ugh, lowest point of the movie, but I still chuckled a little *guiltyface* JUST A LITTLE, MIND YOU] but this was totally a 10/10, I love it so much!

Also, you know how in these movies, one of the characters always has to make a gigantic gesture to prove their love? It's a compulsory scene in this genre, usually utterly ridiculous and cringeworthy [Made of Honor comes to mind] but it was pulled off well here. It wasn't some unrealistic, far-fetched move here, just a guy in an office, trying to convince the woman he loves to be with him. No gimmicks. Niiiice.

They handled the other relationships well, too- I liked seeing the parents, and how his gruff, antagonistic father eventually came around to his POV. That was done so well- they nearly came to blows earlier on, and then he pretty much sabotaged the romance and then the sympathy when he realized what his son had lost...I thought it was hilarious when the mother and grandmother were all like 'if she didn't love him, she wouldn't have left' and he's just bewildered, 'THIS MAKES NO SENSE', hee. Poor guy, it's the sort of thing women instinctively grasp and males are confounded by. *g*

OMG, the scene with the dog and the eagle! 'Take the dog, take the dog!' And the mother and grandmother think it's so cute how she's playing with the pet when really she's trying to feed it to an eagle, lmao. This movie's so awesome!
