Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too, so I stayed in the darkness with you

I've just had one of the best weeks of my life.
If I could choose any period of my life to live over again, it would be this last week.
I indulged in all the simple pleasures in life- reading, eating, watching, sleeping... *shivers with delight* It was perfect.

I stayed at my grandmother's and was spoiled rotten, I had the rockingest time. At home, everything is uber-regulated, I can barely move an inch without infringing some rule or other. [Eg. When mother drove me home, she told me to get changed into fresh clothes before I sprawled out on the couch- because Ma smokes and she didn't want the smell to rub off on the furniture. *eyeroll*] I rarely leave my room because I don't feel comfortable to lounge around under my parents' eyes, for fear they'll snap at me for doing something wrong. Depending on my father's mood, something as simple as scraping my chair on the ground too loudly can set him off. Damn ticking time bomb that he is.

At Ma's? Total freedom. I got to combine everything I love doing- I sat on this cushy reclining chair with my laptop, the massive tv in front of me, chocolate and assorted goodies balanced on the arm of my chair [my parents would have a heart attack, lol], coke on the side table...I didn't have to move at all, everything I could want was arranged around me. ^_^

Ma laughed one night when we were both sitting there reading, with the tv playing music videos for background noise, blankets tucked around us, at how we looked like a couple of old ladies having a quiet night in- and you know what? Don't care. I might be the most boring person in the planet, but this is my idea of heaven.

My grandmother is ridiculously full of love and the desire to make me happy. I don't understand it at all, but thank god for her. She doesn't nag, she doesn't bark orders at me, she doesn't make me do anything except what pleases me. Plus, did I mention the spoiling rotten? :D I'm sure I put on a few kilos this week, I had McDonald's, KFC and pizza- mmm, junk food, my favorite food group.

My days passed by in an idyllic haze- I stayed up til 2 or 3 am, slept in til 9 or 10am, had bacon for breakfast [mmm, greasy, oily bacon, sooo good], went to the library to d/l eps or spam LJ and save fics, and then settled back in at Ma's, vegging out in front of the tv. Bloody fantastic way of life, I tell ya.

I only just got returned home and I already want to go back and do it all over again. :P

GUYS. OMG, OMG, OMG. CHECK THIS OUT.

About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him–which I assumed was wildly out of his control–that wanted me dead. And third, I unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously, gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.

And thus Belle Goose falls in love with the mysterious and sparkly Edwart Mullen in the Harvard Lampoon’s hilarious send-up of Twilight.

Pale and klutzy, Belle arrives in Switchblade, Oregon looking for adventure, or at least an undead classmate. She soon discovers Edwart, a super-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls. After witnessing a number of strange events–Edwart leaves his tater tots untouched at lunch! Edwart saves her from a flying snowball!–Belle has a dramatic revelation: Edwart is a vampire. But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls so repulsive?

Complete with romance, danger, insufficient parental guardianship, creepy stalker-like behavior, and a vampire prom, Nightlight is the uproarious tale of a vampire-obsessed girl, looking for love in all the wrong places.

o.O >_< :DDDDD

How spectacular is this?! I WANT. *dies laughing*

[PS. Can anyone tell me how to bloody block quote? It would make quoting large blocks of text so much easier]

Sanctuary.

Amanda Tapping is amazing. She's just breaking my heart this season with all the angst, zomg. Brief picspam. No commentary, just the pretty.

Numb!Helen.

Distraught!Helen.

Fierce!Helen.

Gratuitous bouncy!curls shots.

And that final sequence needs to be fully capped, for maximum heartbreak.

Whooooaaaaa.
Daaaaammmn.

Um. Coherently?

In a callous observation- certainly looks like Ashley went 'splodey. Unpleasant as that is to see and type. But Emilie's still in the opening credits, so she's not gone gone, right? Not for good? I'm d/l ep 4 this afternoon and I'm totally on tenterhooks right now. Please come back,  bb! *squishes her* Not in wibble-inducing flashbacks/hallucinations but for real. *sniffles*

Netty and I were in total shock when we saw the end of ep 2. We were like Helen, just sitting there, stunned and not saying a word while our puny brains struggled to comprehend that shocking turn of events. Btw, can I just say  I'm grateful Helen didn't do that terribly cliched, eyeroll-inducing, cringe-worthy reaction of 'sink to floor, crouch on knees, flail hands dramatically, lift head to ceiling and shriek: NOOOOOOOO'. *gags* There are no words for how much I hate that awful excuse for acting. I don't think even Gillian Anderson pulled it off, and I love her to death, but I won't lie. That just made me- please don't lynch me- snicker a little.

Netty was kinda miffed at Ashley for that 'Mom?' moment, and I understood what she meant, because it got her hopes up that Ashley was back, her daughter was recovering- and then she commits apparent suicide in the next moment. Makes it ever so much more painful and angsty. But I don't think Ash was in full control of herself- she was about to kill her own mother a few seconds ago, right? So I think she may have still been struggling and she couldn't take the chance that she'd lose grip and slide back into soulless killing machine mode.

I have to think that otherwise I'm pissed at the obvious manipulation of the audience's emotions by making her seemingly die for no good reason.

But I don't get what made her snap back to normal. I mean, what made Druitt sane again? Or at least, not randomly murdering people for no good reason? I think he said it was Tesla electro-shocking him or something. So why didn't that work on restoring Ash when she was massively shocked? [I love love LOVE Tesla- 'Okay, I'm impressed', LMAO!]

And also, I think they said that the Cabal didn't pose a threat anymore- um, what happened? It was this super!corporation an ep ago, capable of wiping out everyone on the planet on a whim, and all of a sudden, they're de-fanged and helpless? Wtf? What did I miss?! I think Druitt went on a revenge mission but how come it was suddenly so successful when they could barely defend themselves, let alone directly take on the Cabal a few eps ago?

Hmm, this calls for a rewatch. I'm so terrible at retaining vital info, damn my sieve of a brain. *frowns at self*

I don’t see the point of Kate’s character. The show needs her like a hole in the head, seriously.

I’ve always thought that the Sanctuary needed more personnel- and it was so good to see that they weren’t the only facility around. The cool thing about season 2 was that the expansion- it showed there were other sanctuaries round the world. I can’t remember whether Helen made reference to them before, but it certainly impressed me. Well, right up til the Cabal took them out, one after the other, easy as pie. But there were commandos with guns! Nice. Those would sure be handy at Helen’s place now and then, y’know? [I thought it was laughable when they were going on about how the Cabal would leave her til last, that her sanctuary was the most heavily guarded- um, hello, anyone remember Fata Morgana? Those dudes didn’t break a sweat getting into the place, it was so embarrassing seeing how easily she was overcome]

So the idea of adding a new character in? Cool. But why, why in the name of all that’s holy, would you choose to add a mercenary, whiny, bratty, useless airhead?! I am TRYING to like her, because I love this show, but she sticks out like a sore thumb. Ashley had the cutting wit and snarky banter PLUS a sensible head on her shoulders and her heart in the right place. This chick? She just lives to annoy people.

Right from the start, I wanted Helen to shoot her in the head and put me out of my misery. I mean, FFS, she aided the enemy and then, once in ‘captivity’- that is, situated comfortably in the infirmary, with her needs taken care of- she chooses to whinge about the service and make petty demands when they’re in the middle of a war and in no position to humor her. I get the use of bravado- read, petulance in her case- by captives, the whole ‘laugh in the face of danger’, but they were hardly out to kill her, not without reason.

There isn't any depth to her character- with Vala, with Marguerite, I understood there were reasons for why they acted the way they did, it wasn't simple childish immaturity on their part. Kate? All I see is her being off-putting and abrasive and flippant just for the hell of it. There isn't the rich palette or vast spectrum as with the other characters, she's just flat and one-dimensional and such a lame cliche. Ooh, spirited sharp-tongued chick with a chip on her shoulder, exciting. Not.

I find it hard to believe I’m saying this- but I almost wish Clara was still around. Of course they killed her, though- her character was never meant to be more than angst-fodder for Will, saw that from the get-go. Clara in the last season was damn irritating, Clara at the beginning of this season? She decided to get brave and responsible and then she’s cut down. *eyeroll* I mean, this chick could barely summon the wits to keep invisible- using her innate gift, for frak’s sake- to obtain her key, which was a relatively easy task, without whining and wailing and flipping out. Now all of a sudden, she’s overwhelmed with the noble need to do her part and defend her territory, like, where the hell did that come from? And once she’s marginally useful, she’s discarded.

And we’re left with frakking KATE. Who is definitely less harmless than Clara. That chick just stole Will’s heart. [Or just stirred up his lust, I didn’t totally buy their relationship- I think he did care about her and grieved her loss, but he didn’t LOVE her, I mean, come on] This freelancer? [Kate Freelander, oh, how clever, I can barely contain my awe] Seriously, why are they keeping her around? Will pretty much gives her official dispensation to stick around and help, but honestly, what help can she provide?

All she’s doing is assessing the ‘merchandise’, hello, the Abnormals they’re trying to protect/contain, making constant insensitive comments about how much they’re worth on the market- I mean, wtf is with her, telling Big Guy she’d consider selling him? That’d maybe be acceptable between friends, but no way is that acceptable from her! And he lets it go. The guys get whacked over the head for less than that! Why is everyone being so tolerant of this woman? Are they so desperate for some distraction, some sort of Ashley replacement? I don’t get it!

Thing is, she's not even that great at her job. I get putting up with an unpleasant character because of the skills they bring to to the table, and then becoming accustomed and even fond of them over time. [McKay, for instance] But she has no talent! For all that she bargains with her superior tracking/hunting ability, she'd've been mince-meat if the creature hadn't imprinted on her and thought she was its mommy. She was USELESS on her own merit, success in that case was purely a fluke.

See, I think that I should like her, given how much I love Vala. She stole the Prometheus, FFS, took Daniel hostage and beat him up some [‘you’re a fruitcake’!] and the whole time she was with the team, she always looked for the best angle to suit her and bring her riches. She was all about finding treasure and living large, right? So here’s this woman, same flippant attitude, same lack of morals when in pursuit of fortune, overtly flirtatious and employing her feminine wiles for all she’s worth…and I hate her guts.

Why does this show- which has given me two absolutely wonderful, lovable, admirable women like Helen and Ashley, who I can look up to and cheer on- absolutely suck at writing female guest stars? Clara…Kate…that wet towel of a lame ass semi-telepath, Deanna Troi style, from the Tribble episode. Gah.

No, I'm sorry, but we tie for most boring person on earth, at least, because that sounded great. I'm so glad you had that time! *huggles*

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-03 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yepyep, I'm pretty grateful. I wouldn't have said no to extending it, but I'm not gonna sulk over returning to RL from that fantasy lifestyle, just cling to the memories til I get to repeat it again. *daydreams*

And lol, maybe our mutual boring-ness cancels each other out? Leaving us the most AWESOME AND EXCITING PEOPLE ON THE PLANET, BOOYAH!

[identity profile] mcgarrygirl78.livejournal.com 2009-11-02 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Grandma's totally rule that way. When I was growing up, I was so excited to go to mom-mom's house, I made up a song about it.

How far along are you on Criminal Minds? Have you seen all the season 5 eps yet?

Two posts from you in one week made my heart sing.....even if I didnt know those shows you were talking about. Is that brunette Sam from Stargate? She looks like her.

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, really? Do you still remember the words? Lol. Well, I wrote a poem for my grandparents when they first moved here a few years back...it's so trite and corny and embarrassing, and of course it's still up on the fridge... *facepalm* Ah well, Ma likes it, even if my attempt at poetry is made of major fail. Lovely how biased and indulgent grandmothers are, huh? ^_^

I've seen the first three eps, and I've d/l the fifth. The Rossi-centric ep is airing on tv next week and boy, the newspaper reviews savaged it. I didn't think it was that terrible! Rossi may not be my fave, but I liked it. Even if I am pissed off that all the guys' backstories are way more awesome than Emily's. *eyeroll*

Hee, you are easily pleased! But I'm glad. *huggles* And indeed, well spotted, the Sanctuary chick is Amanda from Stargate. I wonder if she dyed her hair to avoid comparisons? She also sports a British accent, so it helps emphasize the distinction.

[identity profile] streetcatx.livejournal.com 2009-11-02 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
OMG, I need this book!!! *LMAO*

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-03 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I KNOW, I WANTS IT SO!

It's about $20 here, though, so I'm thinking I'll wait for the library to get it, or wait til Christmas. Someone's sure to give me either money or a book voucher. ^_^

Why, yes, I'm cheap, lol.

[identity profile] carolune04.livejournal.com 2009-11-02 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I love the Mentalist bloopers but HATE how they bleep out the swear words GRRRRRRR

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-03 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, most annoying thing ever! That awful blaring sound, ugh! *frowns*

[identity profile] woodchoc-magnum.livejournal.com 2009-11-02 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad you had an awesome time at your grandma's house! There's no way she can take you in full time/

I love just chilling out in front of the TV with a glass of Coke and junk food as well, it's awesome. Best relaxation ever. Sounds like you totally needed it.

I have nooo idea what Sanctuary is. Yes, I possibly am insane.

Dude, that Twilight spork looks AWESOME. I can has?

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-05 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I WISH I could live with her- but I'm not that selfish. I can mooch off my parents, no worries, but not Ma. I'd feel terrible, once my conscience kicked in...

Hee! You and I are two peas in a pod, you know that? Oh yeah, our priorities are totally in order...antisocial us, communing with the tv instead of people, lol...

Ohhh, I wish I had asked for that Vanilla Coke earlier when Netty and I were shopping. I scored a Big M iced coffee and I had the option of coke as well but I let my stupid nobility kick in and now I'm regretting it...I need that rush, lol, I'm such an addict. No kidding, I get jittery and shaky if I go a few days without any. *nodnod*

Sanctuary is a sci-fi series starring Amanda Tapping aka Samantha Carter of Stargate fame. You're not insane if you don't know it, bb, knowing it probably indicates a higher likelihood of insanity. I'll vouch for that. :P The main character is about 140 years old and was a contemporary of Jack the Ripper, and now spends her days capturing 'Abnormals', that is, strange and wacky monster-type creatures. All perfectly commonplace, wouldn't you say? Lol.

IKR? I need to snag a copy... *iz wistful*

[identity profile] sunkrux.livejournal.com 2009-11-02 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't sugar coat how you feel about Kate on Sanctuary. LOL I don't get her either and for me the big reason I don't like her is the ACTING (or lack there of imho) and some of the direction given to the actress playing Kate. The director needs to tell Agam (the actress) to tone down the HAMMY Overacting.

The difference between Kate and Vala is that Vala actually had some redeeming qualities that over the course of her time on SG1 were revealed. Also, imho, she wasn't nearly as BRASH and annoying as Kate it.

I haven't watched last weeks eps of Sanctuary yet. Didn't really want to watch it when it aired on Friday. Hopefully it will be up on my cable's SyFy on Demand tonight and I can watch it.

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-18 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ack, I don't know how I managed to miss your comment. My bad!

ITA about the actress- I think the character had potential, maybe, in the hands of someone more capable, but 'Agam' is not that woman. I saw her in another movie and she was doing the same overacting bratty schtick there too. Everything's telegraphed so blatantly, with no subtlety whatsoever, it pains me.

Vala wasn't accepted into the team straight away either- she had to prove herself somewhat, and at the end of the day, she was so fun and lovable I didn't really need any real reason for her to be there, lol. But I don't get the rationale behind letting Kate join in this top secret organization when she can't track or capture worth a damn, and her selfish motivations are a world apart from that of the other characters! How can they look at her and not see the person complicit in a heinous scheme that sacrificed innocent people and worked for the people that killed Ashley?!

Her performance in the superhero ep didn't do anything to redeem her, either- oh, boo hoo, she has a sob story- well, the others don't know about it, all the facts they had was that she was nowhere to be found when they needed her and STILL Helen gave her the all-clear to consider herself part of the family, wtf?!

I don't know if I can keep watching this show, she pisses me off so much.

[identity profile] sunkrux.livejournal.com 2009-11-18 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I"ll keep watching because I really like the rest of the cast I can ignore Kate somewhat.

[identity profile] wickedandcruel.livejournal.com 2009-11-02 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
AHAHA OMG THE TWILIGHT THING LMAO. Me needs to read!!

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-03 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
*DIES LAUGHING* IKR?! I can't wait til I get my hands on it. I skimread a little and it's hilarious... ^_^

PS. Your icon's super cute! Who be that? *

[identity profile] wickedandcruel.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
It's Janis! A Flash Forward character, she's adorable.

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
NOOO! *clutches head*
It's been on a few weeks and I never paid attention because it didn't have anyone too interesting but she sounds pretty cool. Okay, so I have a weakness for female FBI agents, what can I say? Scully has a lot to answer for, lol.

*pouts* I guess I'll wait for it to come out on dvd, then, unless she's so adorable that I need to d/l the eps? And if so, point me at any that feature her heavily, 'coz there's nothing worse than spending an hour d/l something to find your fave only has like, two minutes of screentime. *frowns*

[identity profile] wickedandcruel.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Well, she's awesome and kickass, and awesome!!! And she's lesbian and that ruins my ship!!!!! But she's awesome :( She has very little screen time in episode 1, but every time she shows up she's cute. There's only one episode she isn't on, I think it's episode 4 (not sure tho) episode 3 has a LOT of Janis and 5 and 6 too.I'd tell you to download all but 4? If you watch for the storyline tho you'd need to watch them all or you'd be totes confused.

[identity profile] odakota-rose.livejournal.com 2009-11-03 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Nightlight?! Bwahahaha. That's frickin epic. I love it.

Your grandmother sounds so much fun, and the schedule sounds about like mine when I stay over with her. Sleep when I feel like it, wake up when I'm ready, and just generally have fun hanging out with my grandmother. They are awesome, awesome peoples.

Okay, so I'm still kinda in shock about Sanctuary and losing Ashley, but I just saw this article where Damian was talking abotu Habeas Corpus, which is totally important in Scifi I think, so who knows. I'm living in denial and hoping she's still out there somewhere.

There isn't any depth to her character- with Vala, with Marguerite, I understood there were reasons for why they acted the way they did, it wasn't simple childish immaturity on their part. Kate? All I see is her being off-putting and abrasive and flippant just for the hell of it.

This. I tried to like Kate, I really did, but what does is say that the onle scenes of hers I liked were the ones where she got told to shush. Repeatedly. I mean seriously, she cannot open her mouth without saying something annoying. And the little critter imprinting on her was cliche, so hmmph.
I couldn't help but compare her, especially the way she came on with Vala and Marguerite, and in both cases she's lacking. Sorely. Have you ever seen Men In Black? (work with me here) There's this scene when Will Smith puts on the classic MIB suit and stuff, and he tells K, "You know what the difference is between you and me? I make this look good."
Vala and Marguerite do, and Kate most definitely does not.

See, I think that I should like her, given how much I love Vala.

I hear that. And yet, I cannot bring myself to like her.

Have you seen the latest ep of The Mentalist? Red Scare, I believe it's called? Because if so, we've gotta talk about a couple things here. There's one thing I really loved, and one thing I'm rather 'meh' about.
Also: LOL. I saw the gag reel a couple weeks ago, and it's even funnier now having seen the episodes. The best part for me is the scene from "Carnelian, Inc" with the bee. Because that's totally me and my brother when we see a bee.
I do see what you were talking about way back when when you were comparing Elizabeth and Lisbon. It's little things but I'm definitely seeing it. Also, am I the only one who can picture John bringing Elizabeth some sort of alien pony for her birthday?

Finally, we changed our cable/internet/phone service, and now we have a channel that plays old reruns of The Guardian. Gotta say, I like the Mentalist better. More smiling. I'm shallow like that.
Oh, and I'm doing NaNoWriMo. xD
dontcha just love how I slipped that in at the end?

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Nightlight?! Bwahahaha. That's frickin epic. I love it.

IKR? I gotta say, as much as I pay out Twilight, I'm kinda glad it exists because it affords me so much amusement, y'know? Plus, all the bonding with like-minded critics, lol. So it has its place...

Sleep when I feel like it, wake up when I'm ready, and just generally have fun hanging out with my grandmother. They are awesome, awesome peoples.

Dude, you have no idea! We like most of the same shows, so we have tv marathons and it's super awesome. And I don't know if you've seen Eleventh Hour- it only lasted one season *woes*- but we were up til 2am watching three or four episodes all at once!

Damian was talking abotu Habeas Corpus, which is totally important in Scifi I think, so who knows. I'm living in denial and hoping she's still out there somewhere.

ITA, I want her back and I don't care how cliched or overwritten it is, as long as she returns. I don't understand the people that go 'this is an amazing turn of events, it makes each episode so much more tense because we know that any character can be killed off, omg, the thrill, the excitement!' I mean, good for them if they can enjoy it, but wtf does killing people off have to do with 'credibility'? That doesn't make a show hard-core or epic in my book. If I like someone, I generally want them to stick around for as long as possible, kthxbai. And if they were looking for a new series regular, WHY NOT TESLA?! WHO ROCKS SO HARD, HIS ONE MINUTE OF SCREENTIME PWNS KATE'S COLLECTIVE APPEARANCE THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SERIES.

I mean seriously, she cannot open her mouth without saying something annoying. And the little critter imprinting on her was cliche, so hmmph.

She deliberately offends everyone every step of the way and they welcome her with open arms. WTF? I just watched ep 4 and she's not around, she doesn't help out or contribute her 'wealth of experience' to save the day and Helen rewards her by moving her into permanent quarters. [Yuck, I feel sorry for whoever had to cart her trash from one room to the next- she can't even respect their hospitality by NOT trashing the place, FFS] I don't get it! Why don't they take in all the unfortunate mouthy street urchins with chips on their shoulders, then? She didn't do a thing to prove herself to them and they're all bending over backwards to accomodate her, it makes no sense. I suspect her of using that alien weed of Lucius' from Irresistible 'coz it's uncanny how she's won them over like that...

There's this scene when Will Smith puts on the classic MIB suit and stuff, and he tells K, "You know what the difference is between you and me? I make this look good." Vala and Marguerite do, and Kate most definitely does not.

WIN. That describes it perfectly! I need to quote this whenever I'm discussing her with other people in future. *nodnod*

[identity profile] odakota-rose.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, I can definitely be okay with Twilight's existence, if only for the epic lols it brings. *nodnod* The world would be a lot less loltastic without it.

Okay, I've heard of Eleventh Hour, isn't that the show Torri guested in? I've sadly never had the chance to see it. *wibble* But now I want to.

If I like someone, I generally want them to stick around for as long as possible, kthxbai.

Thank you! It's not going to make me like things any more to see my favorite people get killed. It's ridiculous. That's similar enough to real life to bug me. *grumble*

And if they were looking for a new series regular, WHY NOT TESLA?! WHO ROCKS SO HARD, HIS ONE MINUTE OF SCREENTIME PWNS KATE'S COLLECTIVE APPEARANCE THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SERIES.

I cannot say anything more except that I agree with this, because it's so true. There can never be enough Tesla in the world. Never, ever. The man's made of awesome.

I suspect her of using that alien weed of Lucius' from Irresistible 'coz it's uncanny how she's won them over like that...

That... is entirely plausible, actually. It would stand to figure that with the Cabal's resources and her supposed 'MADSKILZOMG!!1!', she could manage to find some.
I haven't seen the newest ep yet though, I gotta get to watching that.

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
The world would be a lot less loltastic without it.

Its innate crackiness has the endless ability to inspire and entertain. SPARKLY VAMPIRES, I mean, that never gets old! I like the idea of vampires that aren't restricted to being 'creatures of the night', but come on, no need to be so far-fetched! Go the Moonlight route of Mick holding a paper over his head in deference to a 'sensitivity' to sunlight or the Vampire Diaries [gag] route of a 'special ring with awesome powers that protect against sunlight-related weakness'!

Indeed, Torri appeared in one ep of Eleventh Hour as Jacob Hood's sister and she was super adorable. She totally shipped him with his partner, it was so reminiscent of Elizabeth and her whole 'they do make a cute couple' line. Hopeless romantics, lol.

There can never be enough Tesla in the world. Never, ever. The man's made of awesome.

*whimpers* I'm torn between rewatching the first ep and reliving the squeefulness of his witty banter and just letting well enough alone because it's going to make me sob at how the quality of the show drops drastically when Kate's added to the mix and he's removed. *sulks*

*snorts* Mad skills my ass.
Seriously, she lucked out with the baby steno- if it hadn't imprinted on her, there wouldn't have been a happy ending. And even so, it was a close call- HENRY had to STOP HER from KILLING IT. So how does she get the credit for its capture when not only did she do nothing and require him to save her, she was also about to terminate the bounty, huh? *confuzzled*

This is the quality of personnel Helen is stooping to?! I love her, but Ashley's death must have unhinged her more than I thought. There've got to be other people like Will out there, with the brains and guts and loyalty to make a suitable addition to the team, not this smart-ass ungrateful mercenary wretch.

I haven't seen the newest ep yet though, I gotta get to watching that.

Um...oops? I'm used to you seeing everything before me, sorry for any inadvertent spoilage. Though really, all I confirmed was that she's a waste of space that's going to be sticking around for the long-term, unfortunately. Is this a nightmare? Can I wake up now? *whimpers*

The Sparklies! It sounds like something infectious that one would need medication for... *giggles*
Vamp!1: Dude, I have the sparklies again.
Vamp!2: Well did you get a scrip for it?
Vamp!1: Nahh, trying to tough it out. I think it was that last bear. Gave me indigestion.
*vamp!2 nods sagely* It's always the bears.
I don't know where that came from. And seriously? There's a ring on Vampire Diaries? I was going to abbreviate that to VD, and then thought better of it. Though, yes, medication.

I am getting flaily over this, I'm going to have to go and find this episode at some point. I can totally see this in my head, and she's so adorable anyways. I admit to being a bit giddy right now.

So how does she get the credit for its capture when not only did she do nothing and require him to save her, she was also about to terminate the bounty, huh? *confuzzled*

Who knows? I have a better idea. Maybe they were smoking weed when they wrote this?

*squishes* I totally don't mind spoilers, it's no worry. I rather love them, actually, so by all means, go ahead and spoil me. And the only thing I have to say to this long term Kate thing is yuck.

*glees* New Mentalist in eight minutes!

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Have you seen the latest ep of The Mentalist? Red Scare, I believe it's called? Because if so, we've gotta talk about a couple things here. There's one thing I really loved, and one thing I'm rather 'meh' about.

Ohhh, yeah. That episode rocked the boat quite a bit. Now, I can't guess what you loved and what you were 'meh' about, but I'm betting one thing would be Van Pelt and Rigsby's imminent hook-up? I mean, PTB, way to ruin the sweet, innocent season-long build-up between them. I'm not invested in this ship but I thought they were cute and now it's just all kinds of tawdry. And it was so contrived, I mean, she shrieks at a rat or something, he pushes her against the wall and all of a sudden, they can't resist their attraction to each other...? Lame. I expected better. PLEASE do not attempt any shake-ups in Jane and Lisbon's dynamics, writers, because I've lost some of my faith in you.

The best part for me is the scene from "Carnelian, Inc" with the bee. Because that's totally me and my brother when we see a bee.

Hee, I love that! I wish we could've seen the actors earlier, instead of the camera being focused on the tree, especially when she went from calm, professional Lisbon to shrill, flaily Robin! Lol. *squishes her*

Ha, I'm glad someone agrees with me about the Elizabeth/Lisbon thing- even if Lisbon's thankfully a more active participant in the show than poor Lizzeh. *snuggles her* I totally have this image of the ladies taking their dogs out for a walk in the park and then meeting up by accident and winding up talking over coffee later. IT COULD HAPPEN. :P

Also, am I the only one who can picture John bringing Elizabeth some sort of alien pony for her birthday?

BB, you are so not alone in that. I can superimpose Sparky over that scene and have it play out perfectly without missing a beat. It'd be just like Shep to pick her up a present like that without thinking about the logistics, like where it's going to be stabled and what it'll eat...and Elizabeth will shake her head and scold him but be secretly amused and touched before sending it off to the mainland so the Athosian kids can play with it.

Meh, I haven't seen much of The Guardian but it was all SRS BZNESS and drama and angst and such, so I passed. We may be shallow, but smiling and teasing and shippiness makes the world a better place, methinks.

Oh, and I'm doing NaNoWriMo. xD
dontcha just love how I slipped that in at the end?

Ohai there, non-sequitur! Masterfully done, I take my metaphorical hat off to you, lol. So, what're you doing for NaNoWriMo? Have you figured it all out, or just flying by the seat of your pants? :P

Now, I can't guess what you loved and what you were 'meh' about, but I'm betting one thing would be Van Pelt and Rigsby's imminent hook-up.

Actually, you got the 'meh' in one. I mean, before, they were kinda cute in that awkward way, While I'm kinda ambivalent about whether I want them to actually get together [mainly because I think they could do with developing their characters separately a little longer], I didn't want it to happen like that. Seriously, lame.

I wish we could've seen the actors earlier, instead of the camera being focused on the tree, especially when she went from calm, professional Lisbon to shrill, flaily Robin! Lol.

Yes! There's such a big difference between Lisbon and Robin, that had to have been hilarious. Did you see the vid on YouTube where she struck a pose and made this funny face at the camera? I just about died laughing.

I totally have this image of the ladies taking their dogs out for a walk in the park and then meeting up by accident and winding up talking over coffee later. IT COULD HAPPEN. :P

OMG, dude, I love you and your plot bunnies. Because I would literally pay real money to see that happen. I think she and Elizabeth would probably get along awesomely well. It also fits in with my mental!canon of denial: Elizabeth's not lost, they got her but she had to go back to earth after recovering from the nanites and is now pwning the IOA earth style. I like this.

It'd be just like Shep to pick her up a present like that without thinking about the logistics,

Mhmm. The more I think of this, the more I want to see it written, because there is epic adorableness of the Sparky sort here. We need to start a bunny adoption farm. Or else I'll write it after NaNo. Possibly. I think.

I'm with you on the shallow bit. Because while broody, intense Simon Baker is definitely worth watching, I'll take smiling and teasing any day.

I'm just kinda going with the flow, I knew what I was writing about since June, but the exact plot is a little more fuzzy, I'm kinda going with the flow, I have a faint, nebulous idea of where I'm going, but not precise information about how I'm getting there. xD

[identity profile] borg-princess.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
So I got the 'meh', what was the thing you loved?

And yeah, I figured they couldn't continue the season 1 trend of Rigsby confessing his love or acting on his romantic impulses and promptly forgetting it [whether it was drugs or hypnosis or some such] indefinitely, but it's such a drastic change in direction.

Were they ordered to sex up the show? I remember Robin saying that since it's on a later time slot, there can be more kissing and stuff, but I didn't think she actually meant there'd be hook-ups within the team. I thought Rigsby was a little too casual about it, I mean, Van Pelt's the newbie and she's the chick, it's always going to be harder on her and her reputation and he's just all 'screw the regs, who cares?' when it's her ass on the line. If he cared for her, truly, you'd think he'd consider the consequences. *sighs* Men.

No, I haven't seen that youtube vid! I must go foraging for some Robin vids soon, she's just too cute!

my mental!canon of denial: Elizabeth's not lost, they got her but she had to go back to earth after recovering from the nanites and is now pwning the IOA earth style.

TRU FAX. Post-nanite Elizabeth, back on Earth, away from her beloved city and her people...takes long walks in the park with Sedge, who makes a new friend in the form of Lisbon's dog- ? [We need a name, she's never mentioned her pet although she keeps photo frames of it on her desk. It's never mentioned in fanon either, poor overlooked creature]

Elizabeth commiserates with Lisbon over all the extra paperwork that Jane's antics create, they bond over their respective rule-breaking, troublesome if dashing male colleagues and Lisbon ends up inviting her to yoga class with her and Van Pelt. *nodnod* I also foresee this awesome scene where somehow Elizabeth ends up taking a bullet for Lisbon, who flails when the nanites start healing her. Because I love the idea of Asura!beth and it sucks they never fully explored her new abilities. Come on, she can take literal head trips, let's DO something with that!

We need to start a bunny adoption farm. Or else I'll write it after NaNo. Possibly. I think.

Those are two of the best ideas you've had! Either ship off the bunnies to good homes, or you can take care of them! *squishes* Go oooon. :P

Because while broody, intense Simon Baker is definitely worth watching, I'll take smiling and teasing any day.

But with Jane, we get the smiling, charming facade PLUS a bit of brooding and intensity! Best of both worlds!

Ahh, well, good that you know where you're heading with the writing, even if the path isn't exactly clear right now. I'm always around to cheer you on if you need it! *hugglepounce*

So I got the 'meh', what was the thing you loved?

That they were collaborating on the plan this time. And seriously, the 'bite me' thing? Made me giggle. Nice callback there. And there is a part of me that thinks it definitely says something that she's said that to him more than once.

And okay, I know they couldn't have kept going the way they were, it was getting a little ridiculous the way Rigsby was mooning about all the time, I just would've liked to see it handled better though. The whole thing definitely had a twinge of the tawdry now, whereas before it seemed a lot sweeter.
Who knows? It's definitely one of the late time slots, I'm not always used to watching tv past ten, when it airs, but yeah, the later you get, the more erm... adventurous the shows get.

OMG. Are you sensing the potential for epic crossover madness I'm seeing here? Because this would totally be epic. It's Robin's real life dog, yes? I haven't heard a name though, hmm.

they bond over their respective rule-breaking, troublesome if dashing male colleagues and Lisbon ends up inviting her to yoga class with her and Van Pelt.

Heee. Okay, this is all kinda of fun, and it needs to happen now, and sooner than now if possible. Elizabeth + yoga sounds like way more fun than it should, and I am all for Elizabeth using those nanites for something beneficial. And can you imagine putting Jane in a room with John's team? Because the very thought is about to make my head explode in the good way.

Those are two of the best ideas you've had! Either ship off the bunnies to good homes, or you can take care of them! *squishes* Go oooon. :P

Annie, I get the distinct impression that I'm about to be schnuckered into writing something very soon... :P

*hugs* Thanks for the support, hun. ^^
