Still, I admire this new Richard. No wibbling over how ordering the guy to be taken hostage and locked up make you responsible for his death. None of the guilty self-flagellation at not preventing his death. Just a grim observation on what his death will cost the mission. I approve!

Hey, so Cara can bring anyone back from the dead? Well, that lowers the sense of jeopardy for the main cast, yay! I honestly don’t care at all, I know how some shows go on about how killing off a regular means that nobody is safe and it makes the audience tense and go ‘oh, anyone could be next’- why the frak is that a good thing? I like settling in to watch and knowing none of them are at risk.

OMG OMG OMG, BOOK!GASM! I'm gonna be quoting passages ad nauseum, it's gonna drive my flist crazy but I can't help it, the LOVE, the IRREPRESSIBLE LOVE!
I started off with the third book, 'coz you were talking about OT3-ness, and I was just gonna read the last chapter as you rec'd but somehow as I skimmed the first few pages, I got hooked in and kept reading and feverishly clicking 'next page...next page'. All thoughts of skipping to the end flew right out of my head- and then at 3am, when I finally finished it, I was so flaily and giddy and happy that I immediately started on the fourth book! Got halfway through it and then thought 'crap, I need to pace myself!' and finally I went to bed. Lol. I was sooo sleep-deprived the next day, but it was worth it!
The OT3 was everything you said it would be and more. My cup of joy over-runneth, what with all those C/K scenes and the bonding and banter happening! SISTERS OF THE AGIEL FTW! Their connection is soul-deep, so awesome.
I was a little woeful about the Mord'Sith extras- at first, I was so happy and was wishing they were in the series, then two of them DIED and I was heartbroken and omg, there were actual tears forming in my eyes, even if the squirrel thing was cheesy, I was like 'she better not die before Reggie makes it there or I will throw a fit! I will TRASH THIS LAPTOP IN A RAGE'.
Thankfully, the bloody squirrel made it in time, so my laptop was spared.
Also, that wedding travesty! Poor Kahlan, thinking it was Drefan and then Richard feeling betrayed. :O
I did like Richad realizing what Kahlan's mother meant about the rose, that was so beautifully expressed, the whole 'should I forgive you for eating when you're starved, for feeling the sunlight on your skin? Should you not find pleasure in a rose because I didn't give it to you?' God, that was just such a perfect way to make up.
Also also and, Cara and the rats! *retches* I nearly threw up, that was so goddamn disgusting and grotesque and ugh...*whimpers* My poor Cara!
I love the sliph, I love the Mud People [even if they are grubby primitives, lol], I love GRATCH and the other gars, OMG...just so much awesome stuff!

No, honestly, there is a line that I draw with my angst- and it is that if a character is going to die, it must be with dignity and not be with stupid unresolved issues hanging over their head [which is why I hate JKR so frakking much for what she did to Snape...but that's a whole other thing and I will shut up now].
There was this Bollywood movie where the dude was dying, he drags himself to the gates to see his star-crossed love with whom he tragically cannot share a life now that he's BLEEDING TO DEATH, she hears he's arrived and runs out to meet him and be with him in his last moments...and he FRAKKING DIES ABOUT FIVE SECONDS BEFORE SHE REACHES HIM, WTF, WTF? GAAAAH!
So yes, there was a lot of tension as I was waiting for Reggie to appear.

I don't know how they're going to mesh Berdine and Raina from the books with the show. Because they were with Cara and left to protect Richard, y/y? But on the show, her sister Mord'Sith beat her up and left her to die, so...HMM. Hopefully they're gonna say that B and R were at some other encampment and weren't around for the overthrowing of Cara's regime, otherwise...just as we got Cara and Kahlan's angsty tension sorted out, we're gonna have another mess....ack!

The rape alarms were like, these little buttons that you'd press in an emergency and they'd give off the most piercing and loud alarm your ears can ever imagine :O To draw attention to you or something if you were being attacked, idk.
Well, it may be somewhat comforting to realize that despite the amount of times K is abused throughout the series, she only ever has done the actual deed with Richard :)

Bwahaha, oh, really? 'coz they're annoying primitives or something? I kinda liked those parts, with Richard teaching them how to keep their houses dry- and then protecting the village,even after his request was denied...then taking on the Elders and being prepared to cut off their heads but for the Sword resisting. I really admire TG's ability to come up with believable methods of solving problems [that whole 'don't think of the problem, think of the solution, because if your mind is filled with thoughts of how you're going to lose, it'll never come up with how to win'- sooo paraphrased, 'coz I suck at memorizing quotes]. I'd never have believed them bending over backwards just 'coz their huts are rainproof, so the way it worked out was neat.

THIS, SERIOUSLY. I love Kahlan, but she needs to grow more of a spine in the books instead of just crying all the time and letting people walk all over her. I honestly enjoy the books, but that weakness of character really bugs me. Nadine totally deserved a smackdown, and while she got what was coming to her [yes, because DEATH is the only suitable reward for interfering with my ship, lol], I'm pissed that Kahlan didn't get to put her in her place. Grr!

*hides* I...kinda...um, got distracted by another fandom. But it's based on a movie, so I'll be in and out really quick, which is sad, because there's never as much fic for movies as there are for series [unless it's HP, with both movie/book series].
Oh, so the last ever FINAL book of all has been published? No more to come? Well, at least you know how it all ends- I always read the last page of a book first, to make sure my favorite characters are alive, and just as importantly, that they hooked up with the right person. I almost bought this massive fantasy book before I realized the author KILLED THE HERO OFF and the chick hooked up with the 2IC. W. T. F. O.o

I'm totes not championing him, I'd still MUCH rather have her interact and be cute with R&K instead of a random guy, but he's getting so much hate in fandom that I felt a bit sorry for him lol. Yeah, she has this boyfriend who's a Commander-turned-General. It's really cute, they dance at this wedding. He's blond and blue eyed like her, and she gets off on him being so loyal and proud to serve Lord Rahl, lmao. They have rough secks (the only way Cara will have it :p) and Kahlan remarks on her love bites, teehee.
The last scene of Confessor has him and Cara in it... but I don't want to spoil you more than I have already lol. I splurged.

On the whole, though, there's an even amount of things I do and don't like about both book and show, so it balances out. I kinda like that LotS isn't as angsty! Playing the same character week after week for years on end...boring.
I know some people, like David Duchovny, get sick of it and want out. I don't know why, job security is a GOOD THING, people. I know teachers and engineers get sick of their jobs but they keep persevering because it's a pay check and they're happy to be employed at all, so I have to say, I really don't understand actors, sometimes.
Then again, sometimes you really should say no. The Rock as a Tooth Fairy? *facepalm* I'm so ashamed...

Yes having a job and sometimes the same job for years and years and years is a good thing but for actors, sometimes it's not about the JOB so much as the challenge to play some one else. When an actor is locked into a 22 eps season show, it makes it harder to play other characters from time to time. Most movies probably take at least 3 to 6 months (sometimes longer) to shoot and if you're locked into a 22 eps season show you have if your a lead, probably about 3 months to film a movie, if your contract allows for it. You see where I'm going? ;)
I don't know...I kinda like that he's doing a lot of family/kids movies. He was really good in The Game Plan and Race to Witch Mountain.

I was so upset with Rob Lowe for leaving WW to look for 'challenges' and then his career ended up going down the drain for a few years til Brothers and Sisters came along. So good for him for wanting an adventure, but at the same time, damn him for screwing over my show!

As for Cam - Ben is a good actor but he simply, imho, doesn't have the range that a lot of other actors have.
I'm sure there are actors who are all about "where's the next pay check coming from", but those, imho, are the ones who aren't really in it for the "craft/art" of it. They just want the fame/glory. They bore me to tears. It's actors like Claudia and Amanda and Joanne Kelly (Myka on WH13) who are in it to expand their talent and range. That I like in actors.
