I knew this day was going to be awesome from the moment I fell out of bed early in the morning. Tried desperately to grab the bed knob, but to no avail- I managed to knock over my fan, bang my elbow on the closet, hit my head on my heater and now, in addition to a throbbing headache, my spine isn’t quite sure which way it’s supposed to bend [don’t get me started on my trouble with *sitting*. Ouch.]

I’m sure the obvious question here is- ‘why does she have both a heater and a fan in her room?’ Well, that’s the reality of living in Victoria. Freeze your butt off in the morning, then get baked to a crisp in the afternoon. Gah.

Anyway, so I get this call that my order of CSI: New York dvd at ezydvd is in [Stella/Mac being my new favorite pairing] and I waltz off to catch the bus, forthwith. Except I check the mailbox on my way out and find a letter from the regional library corporation. And I know what that means. They call you if you get an interview for the job. They send you a letter if they don’t want you. And they didn’t want me. Which…frakking hell, I really really wanted this damn job. It’s been something I’ve wanted since high school and this was my best chance at finally getting it- the bloody branch librarian recommended me and I STILL couldn’t get even an interview with them. I know that people get knocked back on jobs they want all the time, but this wasn’t just a hell of a part-time job that combined the easiest task [come on, SHELVING] and my ability to do it well [after FIVE YEARS of high school volunteering] and a genuine enjoyment of the task [I am partially compulsive about organizing books], it was something I needed to prove to my parents that I am a capable, responsible person who can have a ‘proper’ job and maybe a future that doesn’t involve failing uni, losing all hope of employment and winding up begging on the streets.

My day only gets better. I get to town, thinking that a healthy dose of CSI:NY is just what I need to cheer me up, except I find out that they called me by mistake. There’s going to be a sale on the dvd set in a few weeks, where it gets reduced to $40 but this frelling grotless *tralk* called me early. She’s all apologizing and being like, ‘Come back in two weeks, and I’ll have it waiting for you’, well, OMG, how kind of her to keep MY dvd safe and sound in storage for me. Words fail me.

[I am so checking if Kmart has CSI. I just want to call that woman back and- *seethes* It would give me a small measure of satisfaction to waste her time as thoroughly as she wasted mine. And on the suckiest of days.]

So then I headed to uni for a six hour block of lectures, with no break in between. Did I mention how awesome my life is at this moment?

I should never have gotten out of bed this morning.

On the up side, I’m thinking of doing Psych off-campus, which means no more six-hour blocks, yay!

And on a hilarious note, we have a substitute lecturer for Property Law because our real lecturer is stuck in South Africa. Apparently there’s a problem with his expedition papers, and the authorities aren’t allowing him to migrate over here until all the fine print is sorted out. Which is so cool, because if he does get here, our timetable is going to screw us over completely- due to resource issues, he would be teaching us from 3-7pm. OMFG, just…EWWW! I’m praying that doesn’t happen. Please?

On a disturbing note, I’m losing time. In Biz Org [Business Organizations], we were discussing the benefits and disadvantages of trusts as a company structure…or something. My eyes were fixed on the projector screen, and the teacher had not yet put up the list of disadvantages. Then I jolted out of this…state…I don’t know, it wasn’t like I opened my eyes, they were already open, but it’s like I…all I know is, one moment, there was nothing under 'disadvantages'. Next moment, there IS a list of items and it’s obvious a bit of time has passed by because she spends like, five minutes on each, so I’m just freaked out. It’s like my brain switched off, without me knowing, and then it switched back on and I registered time had passed but I don’t know what was happening with my body…*shudders* It’s creepy and I don’t like it.
