Ooh, good observations- especially about the female boss, because yes, authority kink, lol. I think I like the love/hate thing just a little too much- with Adama/Roslin as the most extreme example, lol.
And hey, I never noticed, but yes, most of them are brunettes! How did I miss that? Huh.
See, with her job, I wouldn't have thought she'd get a dog. It- really doesn't fit with my perspective of her. She works long hours and they're always traveling, so either she spends a fortune paying people to look after it [him/her?] or she has a really good relationship with her neighbors and they dog-sit or...the writers decided to throw in a random frame to personalize her desk without thinking too much about it, lol.
But maybe it's a sublimated subconscious desire to have children, which she can't because she's not in a relationship/because of her career/etc, and so she lavishes affection on her pet instead? I get fics where Lisbon spoils her nieces/nephews rotten, but the dog thing startled me.
I don't think it's a childhood memory. I don't know if she's that sentimental that she'd hold onto a picture for that long and frame it for her desk, it'd be way too random- but that's just me.
