I also didn't pay much attention to Katy in the beginning but it was exactly Hot 'n Cold that made me like her ^_^ Yes, the vid is just hilarious and I like her style- busy, bright, full of life... she may not be a philosopher, but she is a good choice for a good party and some fun in the bus with your iPod ^_^

Ah, ambiguous... this is what I like... You are so right- no female friendship... I am a bit disappointed in Ron Moore- he claims to be all about serious and problematic issues (human rights, democracy and so on ) but he kind of fell into the trivial pattern with the women on the show... after all, he is just a man, no matter how deep he thinks.
