I don't have issues with strong women crying, but doing it every 5 minutes, not so much.

Word. If I see show!Kahlan crying, or someone like...IDK, Aeryn or Marguerite, it's all the more powerful because of the control they have over their emotions and how they hold it together so much of the time, that to see that control slip and them give in to tears makes it such a wrenching, compelling moment because it's like- WHOA, the world's tipped upside down, wtf happened to them?

prefer watching them fight to not cry in front of people because it shows their vulnerable side more than if they cried all the time.

YES, this exactly! *bounces up and down* I can't tell you how perfectly that expresses my feelings on the matter. It's not that tears are weak, really, but when you see a strong character dealing with a huge amount of pressure and struggling to remain composed...it's just so moving, to me.

She really doesn't like taking away their free will. Which is basically what happens to the confessed.

True dat. But can I spoil you on something from the first book? I'll never again mention anything if you absolutely do not want to hear it, but it's a small thing, really.

the night wisp, Shar, begs to be confessed as she's dying and she wants to feel that overwhelming love and be comforted by it before she dies. I was really touched by that scene- Kahlan was horrified but Shar pleaded for confession, because it would ease her pain. Aww. *sniffles*
