I wouldn't discount the second option...I hate that they keep coming up with all these cliches and sucking hardcore in the execution. Castle is just pure awesomeness and always succeeds in subverting cliches and making even the most dubious concepts fun and enjoyable. More shows need to follow its example. *nodnod*

I actually don't mind Dexter as a character, but I just couldn't get into the TV show. I gave up on it in Season 1. I'm pathetic. *sigh*

Fishing? Lol. Of course you're not pathetic, it's an acquired taste. I'm not a big fan of the sex and gore and constant swearing, but it grew on me somehow. I think it's the fascination of watching him literally get away with murder and breathlessly hoping he'll continue on that lucky streak and wondering how he balances 'normal' life with the gruesome bloodshed of his secret life...but it's not a perfect show, by any means. I feel so bad for his foster sister [and real life wife!] Deb, she just has the worst taste in men. All that's left is for her and Dex to hook up, lmao.
