in my hometown a couple of weeks ago, a 70 year old man was killed by a group of teenagers doing 130 KILOMETRES in a 60 zone. And the kid who was driving actually had the audacity to say the old guy was at fault on Facebook. *loads shotgun*

Oh no! *sadface* That's so sad. I know a lot of people tend to get more emotional over little kids that are killed, because they never had a chance to experience life and all that, but it's the elderly I feel for, that's just reprehensible- and to have the nerve to blame the victim on Facebook? I only hope someone introduced that as evidence into the court case and gets him locked away for years longer, because he's demonstrated absolutely zero remorse and needs to be punished severely.

That's it? That's all they did? Major overreaction alert.

IKR? Kids from my high school regularly used to egg people for Muck Up Day [I don't think it happens anymore these days, though] and I shudder to think of the carnage if everyone they egged came after them with a tyre lever!

My response to that is are they going to ban helmets or hats or balaclavas as well? Because if they're going to ban the burqua, you have to ban everything else that conceals your face as well.

RIGHT ON. ITA. The only thing is that burqas are always worn by these women outside the house, whereas people don't make a habit of wearing helmets and balaclavas 24/7, so I guess that downgrades them as a risk. But they can still plant a bomb wearing one of those things you mentioned and run off without anyone able to identify them, so that makes going after the burqa totally suss.

if you ban women from wearing the burqua in public, doesn't that mean the men won't let them leave the house? I mean, I can't say I'm a fan of the way women are treated in Islam, but it's their religion, their choice.

IKR? I thought people had freedom of religion in this country, but it looks like they want to take that away. *frowns* And exactly, the women are just going to be kept locked up if they can't be appropriately covered. But I guess the politicians would feel like they had a victory- 'There are no more women wearing burqas in public, how awesome are we for liberating them?' and ignoring the repercussions, which means they'd just be restricted to their homes. Great move.

Yes, THIS. Thank you. You say everything so much more eloquently than I do!

Aww, thank you! But you make everything much wittier and more humorous than I ever could!

Kids are cruel, especially to people they don't understand.

*eyeroll* In Year 7, I got a Valentine's Day rose proclaiming to be from one kid, just so that everyone could laugh at the horror of being linked with me. Real funny, guys. And the others came up with this ridiculous rumor of a love triangle between me and the other two 'foreign' boys in the class. Yep, our year was so racist.
