I am made of fail.
So, I'm working on this lab report on the relationship between situational/dispositional factors and job satisfaction that's due in- ten hours time, of course, because my organizational skills are nonexistent. Spent an hour freaking out because I couldn't explain the fact that the results were totally not what I predicted. I mean, extraversion- which is all like, people with optimism and confidence and an outgoing nature- so you'd think it'd influence job satisfaction was NOT related at all, and for some reason, openness- which I had said should be unrelated to job satisfaction- had a significant positive correlation. *HEADSPLODES*
I'm reading through different articles, paging through the textbook and notes and spazzing out- til I look at the results for the thousandth time and figure out, OMG I MISPLACED THE ASTERISK OF SIGNIFICANCE. I could've totally screwed up this stupid essay, all for the want of an asterisk. When I was copying out the results, that little star thingy indicated which results were significant and which weren't and I totally switched it around for some reason.
God gives me the eyes to see but the brain to fail. Ugh.
MEME.

I'm totally proud, this is coolness! Just when I think Star Trek has become irrelevant and no longer matters in our society, someone proves me wrong. It hurts me when I realize people don't recognize a show, and it fills me with glee and delight when they do.
Like, I was watching this quiz show one time when I was bored, the host asked this question of schoolkids, 'Name the show which involves the never-ending search for alien life'. They blanked. 'Would it help if I mentioned Mulder and Scully?' Still blank.
THERE WERE LETTERS FILLED IN A FEW OF THE SPACES AND STILL THEY COULDN'T ANSWER IT. *FACEPALM* X-FILES, YOU BRATS, X-FILES, I MEAN, SERIOUSLY OMG! *HEADSPLODES*
That about broke my spirit. >_<
BUT the other day, I was on the bus and this little girl, like Year 7 maybe, about 12 or 13, gets off the bus. Her friend waves at her and she spreads her fingers in the Vulcan salute, and I was just sitting there with the biggest smile ever, all nerdy and squeeful because of that little gesture. Hee.

Date: 2009-01-12 12:10 am (UTC)I've seen bits and pieces of TNG, not in any coherent order or form. Personally, I think Janeway's coffee kicks Picard's Earl Grey tea's ass, but yeah, Data is made of win. I'd take him over Seven any day. :D
I was so happy when the actor, Brent Spiner, was cast in this other sci-fi series although he was the complete opposite of data, all cynical and sarcastic- except it got cancelled. *criz*
So, not that I'm pushing TNG on you, since that was never my addiction, I'm just curious how come you've only watched one season when you seem to like Data so much?
Also, I just realized I never friended you back. *iz shocked and horrified* What an oversight. :O

Date: 2009-01-12 01:58 am (UTC)I've only watched season one because my dad got it for his birthday/father's day (don't remember) and we don't have a good video store that would carry it.
I like Voyager, but I get annoyed with all the crazy-ass time warps and episodes that turn out to have not happened because they were on the holodeck.
Picard is gorgeous. I just absolutely love him; not sure why.

*thumps head repeatedly*
You have summed up my pet peeve withe the series. It got a little too fond of temporal distortions and extra-dimensional warping and yadda frakking blahness. I can't stand episodes that never happened because then there is no development, so what's the point?!
