Since we added each other last September, and as I've grown more familiar with different aspects of your personality, you've come to mean many things to me.
My evil Cylon twin. :P
My co-member in more societies than I can recall right now.
Faithful partner in flaily fangirling across many fandoms.
Icon-maker extraordinaire. Fanfic writer par excellence. Beta of unparalleled patience and support.
My dear friend.
With my chronic lack of timing, I wish you a very happy [early] birthday. *huggles*
And to celebrate the occasion, the TLW vid at last!
Title: Bitch
Artist: Meredith Brooks
Fandom: The Lost World
Notes: Given the nature of the song, it's not an exclusively ship-centric vid. We take a look at other aspects of our beloved Marguerite. :P

WIth thanks to

Thirdly...um...not to come across like a preachy nutcase, but you know, if there's a rainy day and you have nothing better to do, you should consider checking out The Lost World. [It's uploaded on the internet somewhere, Dakota can link you]
The plots are ridiculously OTT and fantastically unbelievable- dinosaurs! apemen! lizardmen! vampires! werewolves! Camelot! Egyptian pharaohs! [Are you overwhelmed yet?]
There is much overacting of eyeroll-inducing, headdesking proportions. The special effects are...well, 'ancient' would be a kind assessment. [It's part of its charm, really! You can't help but laugh with the show!] And this entire series is very, very, VERY cheesy, corny like you wouldn't believe.
So now you're probably wondering why on earth anyone would watch this show, let alone obsess over it to the insane degree I'm exhibiting- well, the SHIP OF EPIC AWESOME. Marguerite, the main chick featured in that vid, and John Roxton [lol, all these 'Johns' on tv...Sheppard, Doggett, Crichton, Connor and so on].
They start off all antagonistic towards each other [as hilariously demonstrated in the first minute of the deleted scenes here (www.youtube.com/watch?gl=AU&hl=en-GB&v=V_FGlMQBPXM&feature=PlayList&p=DF41068D8E10BF7D&playnext=1&index=33), seriously, just watch the first minute and admire how *snickers* it is instantly love at first sight] and proceed to bicker and flirt their way through the rest of the show. It's just so frakking cool. It starts off with Roxton pursuing her as a prize of sorts, and then it turns into this epic romance that no one saw coming.
She has barriers like nobody's business and he wants to wear her defenses down. She's prickly and standoffish but also charming and witty and of course, gorgeous to look at, so he keeps trying to get to know her and learn her secrets and what makes her tick. On her part, she's used to keeping people at a distance or using and ditching them, and now there's this guy pursuing her and she wants to push him away- and frequently tries- but he's noble and caring and damned persistent and just won't believe there isn't more to her than the cold, selfish, mercenary facade she presents to the world. And somehow his opinion starts mattering to her, his wellbeing comes to be important to her, as much as she tries to pretend otherwise.
In the first ep, NONE of the main characters seem sympathetic or all that likable, but what I love about this show is how it takes character development seriously. It's not just Character X remains at one point throughout the entire show, they all grow and change in certain ways and all their relationships within the group as they bond and become a family are given airtime. Most of the focus is on M/R, of course, [and how much do I love that my ship is the dominant focus of the show?! There's no half-assing on the writers' part, no love triangles or whatever crap] but it doesn't neglect their interactions with the other characters in the show. Which I like, because in SGA, for instance, we see Shep's relationship with each of his teammates but their relationships with each other were barely addressed- Elizabeth/Teyla/Ronon, Carson/Ronon/Teyla, McKay/Conan/Xena, etc. etc.
Anyway, if you made it through all that- you're a champ. *squishes* Thanks for listening, and thank you again for saving the day.
