The job thing's just hard because I've been off the market for 3 years (Mom was sick and needed someone with her 24/7) so am pretty much having to go back to entry-level. The last 2 places I worked no longer EXIST (thanks global economy) so references are kind of on the thin side as well since it's been almost 5 years since i graduated school, so *shrug*
Yeah, i am WAY more into emotional intimacy than physical. Especially the kinds that's so established it's "casual" without being not serious in any way, shape or form. "I know what you're thinking", "I know exactly what you need right now', that kind of thing. And, yes, husband-stalking is a definite sign of true love since, given the nature of Lightman's relationship with Foster, i don't see it being an obsession but a genuine concern for her well-being. very sweet
Yeah, killing CTB like they did made about as much sense as killing Kutner like they did *shakes a fist at Fox* But I stand by the House/Wilson thing becaues NEITHER of those two is functional enough for a NORMAL relationship...
irl, Montague John Druitt was one of the leading suspects for the Ripper murders back in the day (that's more up in the air now), but Scotland Yard's file on MJ Druitt make it clear that he was a homosexual. John Druitt from Sanctuary is, of course, based on that guy and is the real Jack the Ripper in series canon. Without going into TOO much detail, James Watson, the man who inspired the literary character of Sherlock Holmes was intimately involved in the Ripper investigation and, most nights, disscussed every detail with Druitt and Druitt more or less strung him along throughout the investigation. When Watson calls Druitt on the betrayal, the subtext OOZES out of the screen to such an extent that I ended up writing my first non-canon slash. *hunts for screencaps*
Watson: "Why ARE you here, old boy?" Druitt: "Why, to save the world as we know it, of course." *smirks* "And, time allowing, to reassert my superiority in our... battle of wits." Watson and Druitt: *toast each other* Will: *looks on like his head's about to explode from the awesome* http://sanctuary-caps.com/displayimage.php?pid=21882&fullsize=1
I don't know. Maybe I'm imagining it, but especially in that last one, Watson looks like he's thinking "Kiss me or kill me, John, just end this nightmare somehow."
and i don't care if you slash them or not, but the emotion in this scene is just heartbreaking. "Perhaps the old boy is losing his taste for the sport" were some of the last words Druitt spoke to Watson before Watson found out Druitt WAS the Ripper
Watson: "You could as easily leave me here to die." Druitt: "I could." Watson: "Then why DON'T you?" (sounds like he's almost pleading) Druitt: *grasps his shoulder* "Perhaps the old boy is losing his taste for the sport..." http://sanctuary-caps.com/displayimage.php?pid=23783&fullsize=1

Druitt: "Must have been quite the blow to your ego."
Watson: "It's NOT that I failed to see the clues laid out before me. It's that it was YOU. For God's sake, John, it was YOU!!!"
