You guys know how I crave crackalicious cracky goodness like a drug, right?
[TLW- case in point]
I heard about this supposed Snow White remake with Natalie Portman as a reincarnation of Snow White and seven NINJAS, instead of dwarves, sent to protect her from her Evil Stepmother's schemes.
How insanely awesome sounding is this? Snow White and NINJAS, yo. Kung fu + fairytale = *insanely bouncy glee*
But whether or not the movie is real, rather than the figment of some lunatic's imagination, Natalie Portman apparently turned down the role. *woes* I love Natalie Portman, she adds class to her projects. [I don't care how badly Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium was savaged by critics, I'm buying it on dvd, shut up]
Question: What do Teresa Lisbon and Elizabeth Weir have in common?
[Apart from devastatingly handsome male colleagues- with *g* enviable high fashion hairstyles- who charm them into approving all sorts of insane plans?]
The images with the blond chick are from two separate interviews- between which Lisbon added another photo of her dog to her desk. Aww, puppykins! [Btw. Is it weird that I notice this?]
THEY EVEN HAVE THE SAME TASTE IN PHOTO FRAMES. PLAIN AND SILVER. :D
I know, I know it doesn't mean anything but I love it anyway. Crossover fic, pretty please?!
'k, I went through a few different SGA eps and these caps were the best I could find of Sedge! I know there must be better ones, but... *sighs* Not that I found. My efforts were in vain. *pouts* HOWEVER, the following totally makes up for it...
Bonus pic of Torri:

I love that she dresses up her dog in sci-fi props, that is hilarious! :D

Meme! snurched from kat_rowe:

'k, some of these I haven't dabbled in for ages but I've absolutely loved all of them at one stage or another, whether for a brief duration or with a never-ending, undying passion.

Katy Perry- Hot 'n Cold
This makes me giggle so much. ^_^ If ever a couple gave off mixed signals [what with the kissing in other people's bodies and random 'accidental' groping and then marrying other guys], 'twould be these two.

Date: 2009-06-01 07:03 am (UTC)Yeah, i am WAY more into emotional intimacy than physical. Especially the kinds that's so established it's "casual" without being not serious in any way, shape or form. "I know what you're thinking", "I know exactly what you need right now', that kind of thing. And, yes, husband-stalking is a definite sign of true love since, given the nature of Lightman's relationship with Foster, i don't see it being an obsession but a genuine concern for her well-being. very sweet
Yeah, killing CTB like they did made about as much sense as killing Kutner like they did *shakes a fist at Fox* But I stand by the House/Wilson thing becaues NEITHER of those two is functional enough for a NORMAL relationship...
irl, Montague John Druitt was one of the leading suspects for the Ripper murders back in the day (that's more up in the air now), but Scotland Yard's file on MJ Druitt make it clear that he was a homosexual. John Druitt from Sanctuary is, of course, based on that guy and is the real Jack the Ripper in series canon. Without going into TOO much detail, James Watson, the man who inspired the literary character of Sherlock Holmes was intimately involved in the Ripper investigation and, most nights, disscussed every detail with Druitt and Druitt more or less strung him along throughout the investigation. When Watson calls Druitt on the betrayal, the subtext OOZES out of the screen to such an extent that I ended up writing my first non-canon slash. *hunts for screencaps*
Watson: "Why ARE you here, old boy?"
Druitt: "Why, to save the world as we know it, of course." *smirks* "And, time allowing, to reassert my superiority in our... battle of wits."
Watson and Druitt: *toast each other*
Will: *looks on like his head's about to explode from the awesome*

Druitt: "Must have been quite the blow to your ego."
Watson: "It's NOT that I failed to see the clues laid out before me. It's that it was YOU. For God's sake, John, it was YOU!!!"
(yeah, and this one actually demands multiple caps)

I don't know. Maybe I'm imagining it, but especially in that last one, Watson looks like he's thinking "Kiss me or kill me, John, just end this nightmare somehow."
plus. you know, positions you don't find two straight men in every day:

and i don't care if you slash them or not, but the emotion in this scene is just heartbreaking. "Perhaps the old boy is losing his taste for the sport" were some of the last words Druitt spoke to Watson before Watson found out Druitt WAS the Ripper
Watson: "You could as easily leave me here to die."
Druitt: "I could."
Watson: "Then why DON'T you?" (sounds like he's almost pleading)
Druitt: *grasps his shoulder* "Perhaps the old boy is losing his taste for the sport..."

THIS.
Unspoken communication, being able to gauge the other person's mood and feelings, knowing them better than anyone else in the world...oh, I crave that like a drug.
Lol, I agree re: Cal. I didn't think it was a sign of a creepy obsession, it's what you do when a friend's in trouble and you want to have all the facts so you know how to help. Definitely a sweet gesture on his part.
I just didn't think killing either of them was necessary! Why is it so hard to just promote people or come up with a way other than DEATH to account for their departure from the show? I cried so hard over Amber, and I just didn't get Kutner's suicide, wtf. I know it was supposed to point out how we never really know other people and there IS no explanation and everything but it was a terrible thing to do to his character.
I can't offer an intelligent response to the picspam, but holy crap, intense, much?! And way with the slash, I mean, those pictures are pretty convincing. I'd buy it as canon in a second. Especially the 'it was YOU' caps, I mean, whoa!
Re: 1/2
Date: 2009-06-04 09:13 pm (UTC)*nods* if you've got the emotional intimacy, the sex is pretty much secondary at that point. Yes, nice icing on the cake, but also not strictly necessary to what makes the two people so perfect together.
No, LIghtman stalking Foster's husband didn't come across as remotely creepy or even inappropriate because it was so obviious that he was doing it out of love and worry rather than desire or jealousy, which made the whole thing just beautiful (if painful) to watch
Oh, if it had JUST been Amber, it wouldn't have pissed me off because, much as i liked her character (anyone that can compete with House on that level SHOULD be kept around, damn it) because her death at least advanced the plot. Kutner's was more or less a throw-away. House was ALREADY starting to doubt himself, so "how could i not have seen this coming?" simply fails to strike me as ample justification. Especially given the bait-and-switch with the implications about Taub's depression and previous suicide-attempt. I don't mind misdirection (it can be fun) but that was just stupid and unneccesary, imo. There was NOTHING in Kutner's characterization to suggest suicide. He was young, social, and obviously got a real kick out of life. That's beyond "not seeming depressed on the surface". I'm sorry, but me and my psych degree aren't buying that. It MIGHT have been justified if they'd pursued House's "he was actually murdered" theory past that episode, but they didn't so it was just cheap, pointless, and gratuitious. It also gave me a flashback I could have done without *shakes head*
Yeah, shiny picspam, yes? I may have written some M-rated Watson/Druitt after putting that together and actually LOOKING at the caps again *hums innocently* I mean if those guys WEREN'T in bed together at some point in the past, you know damned well they WANTED to be. It also makes sense to me on a historical level if you want my convluted justifications because i gave it a LOT of study before i decided i wasn't just imaging things (seriously "No Love Without Forgiveness" had almost 2 pages of author's notes, most supplying historical/literary justifcations for the idea of Sherlock Holmes/Jack the Ripper -- if you care, let me know and i'll copy/paste them for you)
