I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed the Mentalist/Castle similarities in that last Castle episode. Don't get me wrong, I like Castle but because I am first and foremost a Mentalist fan, that whole 'reading mind' sequence did kind of irritate me .... just because I dunno, I love that scene so much in The Mentalist and ... okay, I watch Psych and they continually take the piss out of The Mentalist for "ripping off" their show (even though they're NOT the same show at all ... that's a whole different issue) and the first few times it was funny and free publicity for The Mentalist but now it's "Okay, we GET THE POINT" .... and know they didn't put that scene in Castle to copy The Mentalist at all but in my mind I think I'm just fed up with seeing the same plotlines play out on two shows so close to each other. This isn't just to do with Castle/Mentalist but other shows too. I know it's my fault for watching so many damn crime shows but every time they regurgitate storylines, I lose my faith in show writers just a bit more.

Regarding your friend I know this is the hardest thing to hear but she really likes the sort of friend you can do without. I know you have a lot of history and it's easier to put up with the way she treats you than let her go but like every relationship being treated like this isn't fair to you. I have friends like her and most of the time I stop making the effort but if they contact me/make the effort I won't dismiss them, we'll still meet up and whatever but I know that they're a casual friend rather than someone I can count on and you just have to accept that.
