Went to the Armageddon Expo last weekend- for the first time, I was able to attend both days and it was absolutely brilliant. [This new trimester thing at uni sucks, but at least it meant the exams finished in time for me to blissfully fritter away the hours gawking at sci-fi stars. ^_^]

'coz the universe giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other, the bad news to compensate for that was that Amanda Tapping pulled out in the end. So devastated. That’s not cool at all. At the beginning of the year, I’d’ve been rather indifferent but since I fell for Sanctuary and full on obsessed over her…yeah, that was awful, leading us on like that and then bailing, grr! Joe Flanigan replaced her, which is kinda funny, ‘coz the first time I saw him- two years ago- he was added to the list as a replacement after Michael Shanks pulled out. It was cool seeing Joe again, but it was a little ‘been there, done that’ and it was still pretty disappointing not seeing Amanda- I haven’t yet met a female star, it’s been a boys’ club so far! [Hopefully that’ll change next year- Claudia Black is supposed to be at a con in March, omg! Ben Browder, too, but guys, CLAUDIA! *bounces*]

And yeah, there was a slight hiccup with the public transport that meant our 'train' ended up being a bus, 'coz the railway system was down for some reason or another- making me and Netty raise our eyebrows and giggle when Joe Flanigan complimented our public transport system- and okay, my feet and back and shoulders were killing me by the end of it, but omg, it was so worth the sore twinges and inconvenience! This was, hands down, my favorite convention experience out of the past four years!

Ooh, one of the highlights of the weekend- I found a bag of mini Reese's Pieces! I have such an addiction to them, but I can only find the pack of two large Reeses for $2.50, which hell no, not wasting my money like that. Yeah, the bag was expensive at $6 but a lot more value for money. Sadly, when I went back on Sunday, it was all sold out. *pouts*

Which Mensa candidate decided that pushing Sarah Connor Chronicles back an hour was a good idea? After the frakking 'Ladettes to Ladies' program, for crying out loud. I had to sit through ten minutes of this rubbish before I realized the tv guide was screwing with me as usual.

I realize that sci-fi isn't the best treated of genres when it comes to commercial tv, but that it would be delayed in favor of reality tv trash where women of dubious virtue are taught proper etiquette and how to attend a party without getting drunk, stripping off and making out with the nearest dude?! Seriously? I thought all one needed was common sense, but no, one of the 'ladies' said that her performance on the show was the first time she was proud of herself in her entire life because she was able to behave with restraint and modesty. And refrain from embarrassing public displays and sleeping around. *bashes head against wall*

If they win money for such amazing revelations, I will throw up. Because I've never behaved with as little self-respect and dignity as they have and I think I deserve recognition for it. How did we end up in a society where mentally stunted are rewarded for acting up on-screen and then developing a bit of 'maturity'? There are *children* with more intelligence than these idiots. How sad.

Anyway, I ended up watching Women's Murder Club, which was fortuitous, because in the promos for *next* week, it showed Joe Flanigan! Special Agent! OMGYAY!
